We will not score 40 points against an elite defense. An elite defense will should down this offense run by DJ.

Ride a good defense the entire game to shut down the opponent's defense. Allow the offense to strike early and often in the game to put points on the board. When the opponent shows fatigue of giving into pressure with a solid defense and an offense turning the power on, the game can be put away.

You know what would help the offense to strike early is the defense to get an INT on the very first play.

Surely the offense will quickly strike after that, right??

Also had the help of 2 blocked punts that only needed 5 and 15 yards. When it comes to having to drive the field 70+ yards on a drive, he might do it once or twice a game if that. To have to rely on short fields every game against better teams will be hard to come by. Heck even the 5 yard drive it took all 4 plays to get it done.

We are trying to win a National Championship, not just beat a previously 3-9 Georgia Tech team. Fire power, mechanics, speed, strength, conditioning, play calling, punting, kicking, coverage,.........ALL of it means something when you are chasing the top seat. "Good enough" is not good enough.

You can't expect to live off 2 blocked punts to spark the offense either, also won't be playing any worse teams outside of Furman going forward.
