Well, the dust has settled!
I think you'd be a dang fool to say that UGA wasn't one of the best 4 teams; just coudln't win the one dadgum game that mattered... lol Losers!
On the other hand, I think you could say that Clemson (slightly) underperformed (national) pre-season expectations (as I recall we were ranked like #9.)

Now, UGA wasn't the same UGA as last year. I think Carson Beck is relatively pedestrian at QB. Alabama made them look bad.
But they're pissed. They took a lot of that out on FSU (LOL - just desserts for ole Braids Norvell) but you better believe ole Kirby will have them FIRED up when they play Clemson in what will be (more or less) a home game for da Dawgz.
UGA is losing TE Brock Bowers, OT Amarius Mims, WR Ladd McConkey, C Sedrick Van Pran, LB Jamon Dumas-Johnson, RB Daijun Edwards, S Tykee Smith, CB Kamari Lassiter, S Javon Bullard but adding a lot of good players (portal and recruiting)

On the flip side: The Tigers will have an older wiser QB, a better coached OL, (hopefully) Mafah, and (fingers crossed) really solid WRs. Possibly GRREEEAT WRs but I'm going to be a little less optimistic.
Defensively, I believe Clemson will be strong once again. Only time will tell.
Special teams... Punting = excellent. Kicking = TBD on field goals but we're optimistic that it will be slightly better than last year.

UGA will be a bettor's favorite in this one. I am going to guess Clemson will be +7 against the Dawgs. (Looks like FanDuel actually has the Tigers at +11.5; probably fair.)
This will be a tough opener for the Tigers but the same can be said for UGA. Luckily (unlike in the last outing vs UGA) there will be less pressure on the Tigers. Everyone EXPECTS UGA to be great now.
My prediction: I have no clue. What do you think?

if Clemson makes strides and the coaching improvements matter we lose by 7 to 10.
If the same Clemson team as this past season shows up, we lose by 25 to 35

Carson Beck finished ranked 7th nationally. Seems better than "pedestrian." As for the game, these teams are simply not in the same place right now. I think Clemson will have the defense to stick around for a half. Eventually Georgia's talent and depth show up. I'd pick the Dawgs 34 - 20.

Unless Clemson gets O line help from the portal it will be a long night. Maybe the talent is there but needed a new coach.

I think we can make a lot of progress next year and get it going in the right direction... but I think it will happen as the season goes on... a lot to ask in Game 1.
Unless Georgia has a fall-off with their departures that is more of a hit than expected.. they are in a better place than we are right now.
That said.. I think we can make a game of it but UGA's overall talent advantage wins in the end.

I think it's a loss, the only question is whether it's by 7 or 24. Unfortunately I don't think our OL will give Cade enough time. Even with a full year under his belt, I just don't think he's going to be fast enough, and I think our WR will not get enough separation, to be competitive. I *really* hope I'm wrong; I'm getting really tired of my UGA-loving uncle and my neighbors.
I think the OL will be MUCH better. But by game one? Not seeing it.

There is nothing on paper that shows we can beat Georgia because they are a race car that just refills every year. No way to know what will happen but if we can keep it close, who knows.

Do ya'll still play them toward the first of the season? And you are right ...... there is nothing that shows you can beat Georgia ..... or Clemson.
