Conference Expansion - Winners and Losers

Considering all moves since the ACC started conference poaching with VT, BC, and Miami.
Losers (in order):
Big East football, UCONN, Cincinnati, ACC Bowl Match-up's, WVU, PAC 12, Big 10.
Winners (in order):
Utah, Rutgers, Missouri, ACC, BC
My rankings are based only on the perceived increase or decrease of fan interest. It excludes that the Big 10 thinks they "won" (money) when they added Rutgers.

In my opinion, The Big 10 wouldn't touch a North Carolina school that wasn't UNC. Nor should they. The overwhelming majority of Big 10 schools are huge state flagship universities.
The SEC would probably take NCSU or UNC, but after that I would see them grabbing ECU and their 21k undergraduates and 50k seat stadium. I don't think the SEC would do that, but I think it's more likely than the SEC being interested in Wake or Duke (and vice versa).
I think we're done for a while unless the Big 10 can con Mizzou into joining them. Otherwise, any expansion will be old Big East schools. Again, just my opinion.

Texas AM not on the winners list? I am by far not an SEC homer, but I think they are the clear cut winner in expansion. They removed themselves from Texas's umbrella and got into the SEC. L'ville I think is 2nd on the winners list... They got out of the crumbling Big Least and into a very credible conference that will compliment them all around considering their athletic prowess in all 3 major sports. The ACC was a very solid fit for them considering there is good football competition in us, FSU, VT, soon to be the U, and UNC, occasionallly GT/NCST, and the ACC is now and again the premiere basketball conference, and is always one of the best baseball conferences... L'ville was a clear cut winner!

Agree on your points. A&M certainly got what they want, and we have shored ourselves up pretty nicely, too, and at one time I didn't think we had. Now, if we just could replace Swoffie with somebody who is not a UNCheat homer we really would be on a roll.

His "Heisman moment" was when he went into Alabama and beat them, he obviously would have not gotten that if A&M was in the Big 12. Heck, Sumlin might have not even gone to A&M if they had not chose to move into the SEC.

Disagree. They have geographical rivalries now w LSU and Arkansas and biggest thing is they are no longer Texas's b1tch! They won! As much as Clemson folks hate to admit the SEC is the cream of the crop, it is.. They now get the glamour and lore that comes w just saying they are SEC and out of the Big 12! Huge win for them!

conferences to a new conference that is slightly more powerful but less regionally fitting.
TX AM and Maryland are not big winners.

they are in the sec.they can have a average year and the media will still give them tons of press..good money coming in and the recruiting will be better.to say they didnt win is a joke

ummmmm the bowl matchups for the ACC are better for the ACC now that the Big East is dead. So that isn't accurate either. We are a big winner in terms of bowl matchups. No more terrible matchups with garbage big east teams.

The Big East bowl games are dying or dead. We will likely not have another matchup with that conference after this season. If we do have a matchup with them it will be one bowl game.
We are big time winners in terms of bowl matchups. Instead of playing Big East teams we will be playing Big 10, Big 12, SEC, or Pac 12.

But that's just me.
To me, adding Syracuse & Pitt doesn't help our football at all, and just makes travel that much more difficult. Louisville is OK. But I preferred keeping Maryland, as they're more geographically relevant to more of the ACC than Louisville, which is essentially a midwest metro school in a small state.
The only "win" is getting Notre Dame. But they're not joining us in football, only adding a few extra ACC opponents each year while still keeping their own TV money. I prefer the "all-in" approach as opposed to their "all-in except football".

The ACC replaced Maryland with L-Ville.
Meanwhile, the SEC added Missouri and TX A&M.
Missouri has done nothing (ever).
We would be saying the same about TX A&M except for the 20 point first quarter blitz they put on Bama.
It is amazing what one great quarter can do for the perception of your team.
