Kinda coming into the portal by backdoor. But kudos to Coach Swinney for knowing that this kicker was still enrolled as a student at Clemson via internet classes.

I like it that Dabo is sending the message that no one's job is safe, especially if you fail to perform. Welcome to reality of "adulting" and taking your job seriously on this football team.

I don't think so, or it really shouldn't be any problems bc every player on that team understands very well that playing time equals performance, and without it, they must take their place in line and practice hard hoping for another opportunity...
What we have learned during Dabo's time as HC, he will give more than what is considered to be a fair chance, and Gunn had his. If this Jonathan Weitz does a good job in the FSU game, Dabo will leave him there, and Gunn may never get another opportunity to be the starter.
Do anybody know what beach Dabo got this Weitz kicker from?

Actually, if you go by what Dabo said in the article, if Weitz does well, we will probably have 1A and 1B Kickers. Gunn will handle kickoffs and long FGs (45 yds and up) and Weitz would have PATs and shorter FGs.

There is still hope! I’m going to enroll in virtual grad school. I was a soccer player handling corner kicks and also a backup goalie. My range is only 30 yards with a football , but straight as a pin every time . Hey, I can’t be worse.

And this is crazier than Ariri starting to kick footballs while playing soccer or a student named Treadwell. I think that the main problem we have with the kick game is timing. Maybe they should consult with Danny Ford. In pre-game, he would always watch the kickers make tries while timing them with a stop watch. Just a thought.

Absolutely, that or there would be an announcement that Kicking trials would be held at some place at a certain time, that Coach was looking for a FB team kicker!!!!

Not anymore, he made peace with that a while back. That is why he stopped saying Daniel HS and started saying Clemson again during the NFL introductions when they played on TV.

The reason I asked about the portal being open or closed, is bc I read somewhere that there is only certain times that the portal can be used!!!
