there are cranes all over the place. Got close to the Oculus and if they can finish it up in 3 months, I'll take my hat off. Football field looked very worn out. Do they resod every year?

drainage and removed the crown from the field. At the first of may it was nothing but dirt. They seeded the field and had it ready for football season. It was amazing. They did not use sod. Those grounds people at Clemson are the best in the business !

It actually should look like this right now. Field has been sprayed to kill off the rye and any weeds. This will allow for warm weather grasses to take root. It will look perfectly fine in football season. Part of the cycle in athletic turf maintenance in the south.

2 of my buddies work for the athletic grounds crew and let me tell you, they take their job as seriously as anyone on campus and their bossman doesn't take any slack

The field is a Hybrid Bermuda and does not start filling in (growing) until usually May/ June when the temperature increases especially in the evening. Most Golf Course use this grass for fairways and tees. It usually does not start to go dormant until late fall when rye grass may be planted. I am not sure if we supplement with Rye grass in the fall.

You must not have seen Riggs. It's like 75% gravel and the other 25% is excavators and dozers
