the bottom line..

Sep 26, 2023, 9:03 AM

2015-2020 spoiled us, ROTTEN. i mean, look at our fan base, on here. we'd all pee our pants if we'd ever even THOUGHT we'd be what we are, today. yeah, this year has been a disappointment, but our program is as strong as it's ever been. i have NO reason to think dabo won't correct what needs to be corrected. he's the best coach we've ever had and if there has to be a few bumps in the road to have our program where it compared to where it was... I'LL TAKE IT!!.

it's only gone up since dabo took over, it's taken a dip as of late. are we so spoiled as to be nothing but a bunch of b!tchin' babies or we gonna support our team until there's nothing to support? we really need to quit acting like the sky is falling. it's not. nobody likes the truth when the truth upsets you.. but, dabo is not wrong. we ARE a few plays from everyone singing a completely different song.

wow, i should proofread. anyway, it's not as bad as y'all are acting. just enjoy the game for what it is: entertainment. that's all it is.

and, again.. dabo's not wrong.

There’s been a ton to complain about but the good has also been massively overlooked by nonstop bashing from every angle. It’s been a while since we’ve out gained every opponent we’ve faced just have to stop giving points away. For the most part I think it’s trolls or people who only liked Clemson due to the title runs. Losing sucks but these young guys have a bright future I think they look even better this weekend.

-We are 3-5 in our last 8 games vs Power5 opponents......average loss margin ~13 points
-We have lost 8 games the last 2-1/3 seasons......that's the same total losses we the previous 7 seasons combined
-We've averaged losing ~8 players per year to the portal the last 5 years........those voided schollies either go to walk-ons OR next recruiting class.....=....FOREVER YOUNG

HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS though.......we'll be 12-0 regular season after 2023 once you throw in the moral victories.

There is a solution for those that are so unhappy. Go run and be a hanger on for the next team. This entitled fan base is the WORST in college football. There is a day coming when Dabo will leave or retire and then all the “I can coach better than anyone” fans will see …. but something tells me none of those “fans” will be around.

Which likely means, you, yourself are a coot. Would explain why losses heaped on top of losses dont bother you in the least.

That is a very low blow and almost certainly a violation of TOS to launch that kind of personal attack.

Lol…. trying to make a point by making a woefully inaccurate statement about Clemson having the worst Fanbase.

Clemson has one of if not the best fan base in the southeast. Bar none.

The problem is that you're only looking at the score, or the outcome of games. you see a loss as a loss as a loss. you don't seem to care that 3 of those 5 losses were w/ an offensive coordinator that had no imagination and a qb that had personal problems that bled over to our team. 3 of those losses were w/ a team that got ran out of the stadium at ND, and whether you wanta admit it, or not, when you've beaten someone as many times as we've beaten carolina and fsu, their time's coming. ok, so what.. carolina got us last year and fsu got us this year. we can't beat everyone on our schedule every year for a decade straight. y'all need to get a grip on reality.

Here's the problem with how you're looking at it. TOO GRANULAR. We could go back 20 years and dissect a lot of our losses to trace them back to "1-3 plays" that changed the trajectory/outcome of the game. Bottomline is..........WE WEREN'T GOOD ENOUGH. Call it mistakes, missed assignments, young players, whatever.........we weren't good enough to either A. not make those mistakes or B. OVERCOME those mistakes.

The issues that have plagued our team the last 3-4 years have been very multifaceted with some being deep-rooted. You have to be able to look at it from a 5,000 foot view instead of a 2' view. I completely agree that PARTS of our issues were OC & QB. Dabo has solved those TWO issues, the problem is that's not all...........you can't just stop there.

Take the low hanging fruit last year offensively
-STREETER.....BIG problem.....problem solved
-DJ...........BIG problem (not as big as many made him out to be, he was just the easier target).....problem solved
-WRs..........IMO the 2nd biggest problem behind Streeter......one of the last variables left unchanged yet results remain the same.

plain and simple our talent isn't close to what it once was and that's why we're either losing these games and/or lesser talented teams have "closed the gap"/playing us closer than they should. Until Dabo increases/sustains ELITE LEVEL HS recruiting status........AND........utilizes the portal with a few players each year to shore up "problem/young areas"........this "recent" trend will continue.

Our WRs played their "A+ game" for their talent level vs FSU and yet we lost to FSU's "B game"....................in the past when our WRs played their A game, virtually NOBODY CAME CLOSE to us...........especially AT HOME.

you can't look at each game in a vacuum........you have to take a step back and look at the big picture the last 3/4/5 year trend to really understand and see the issues.

And I didn't even touch on Dabo's assistant hires as a whole....

agreed... which is why i said in another post that i have no reason to think Dabo won't fix the current problems.

You are 100% correct. Our offense from 15-20 was led by quarterbacks the likes that we may see again at Clemson. Our running backs and receivers are not as good today as they were then. When we made mistakes in the years 15-20, our offense could make up for them. This year's team has talent, but because much of that talent is inexperienced, we don't know yet how good they can be. You just cannot expect that after 6 games, Cade will be Deshaun or Trevor and neither Ship nor Mafah will never be Etienne. I know the expectation is that we make the Playoffs every year but that is simply not realistic.

So's Notre Dame.

Sep 26, 2023, 9:46 AM

So's Bama.
So's Colorado.
So's Utah.
So's ...

Just win, baby. Clemson used to be a "just win"
kinda program. Now it's more of a "just whine" vibe.

When you pay a dude $12M ... yeah. You know the rest.

So, he's getting paid more to underdeliver, and we're paying more to watch him do it.

"Gee, we gotta CEO here making record money while sales are falling off a cliff, and he's blaming fate."

Calling it out as absurd isnt spoiled. It's thinking like the other 99.8% of the adult world thinks.

99.8% of the spoiled adults.

i bet you weren't around in 1998, were you? how bout 1992-2010? yeah dabo gets paid a ridiculous amount, but IMHO it's a ridiculous amount even if we were winning NC's every year. 10-12 mil a year to coach a sport is stupid. yeah, i know he's brought in a lot of money into clemson university and the city as a whole. i get that. but, the coaches getting paid what they're getting paid is the SOLE reason for the NIL and transfer portal. if you don't understand that, i can explain. but, i'll assume you get it.

and, he's not blaming "fate". he's saying what "is". you just don't like "what is". cause if those few plays go the way they go 99.8% of the time, the whiners would be the first to be singing dabo's praises. such a fickle fan base. and, like i said,.. i'm sure the fickle ones haven't been around that long.

We have just been snake bitten and it happens to the best at times. When it rains it poors and that's exactly what has happened. We once benefited from other teams mistakes now the table has turned on us so we have to turn this around.
