Rub route on ND touchdown

Oct 4, 2015, 1:18 PM

Isn't that illegal...without looking it up it looked like the same play that was flagged last year at FSU.

yeah it's called offensive pass interference***

It was the same play. The reason it wasn't called was because Fuller was actually looking back to the QB whereas last year he was just playing the DB. They address it on the telecast and you can see that they just executed it well.

Still a pick play, still illegal.

Oct 4, 2015, 1:28 PM

Doesn't matter where he was looking. The announcers kind of glossed over that fact, basically saying that he made it look less illegal this time.

Right, but if you're an official how do you flag someone for running a route and there's no blatent attempt to pick a DB. It's unenforceable.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It is enforceable

Oct 4, 2015, 2:03 PM

That WR can't just run into a defensive player, the same way a defensive player can't run into an offensive player. If a DB accidentally rubs over a WR, it's always called. The proper way to call it is to throw a flag. It's not that hard. It's almost like refs don't watch game tape, because as soon as that pass was in the air, I knew it had to be a pick. I've seen them run that pick play several times.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

you're exactly right, still offensive PI***

The WRs were like run blocking on this one.

I'm friends with the ref who made the call last year at FSU. He's calling our game this week with GT.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

they ran it very well

Oct 4, 2015, 1:30 PM

good no call

tell me what is going on at 13:41 in my link below

Oct 4, 2015, 1:43 PM

the WR comes across and blocks the LB, he was not running a route, he was taking the person responsible for coverage out of the play, the LB was not covering the WR that blocked him

definitely a pick play

Oct 4, 2015, 1:36 PM

At 13:41 the WR picks #44 and leaves the guy on the crossing route wide open. #44 was doing what he was supposed to. The actual call should have been offensive pass interference.
