SPRING GAME DEFENSE (OBSERVATIONS)

After watching the Spring Game for the fourth time, (I'm A Football Addict Don't Judge Me) I intently focused on the defensive effort. A few things I noticed.
1. This defense is INSANE. Even the 2nd team is nasty.
2. This defense is violent.
3. This defense is intelligent.
4. This defense is fast.
5. This Defense is a complete unit at every phase from the Front 7 to the back 4.
6. Did I mention that this defense is INSANE.
The added bonus would be the fact that most of the contributing players have at least two years of eligibility left on their collegiate careers. They will win many games for Clemson for sure. INSANE!

Spring game is lots of fun for all.
To come away with any idea as to the team that will line up in the Fall is just crazy.

Tug, I definitely agree. Either side of the ball. 20 years ago (or however long it's been) spring games actually were games. No gloves. Then you could get some general idea. Now it's done for pure entertainment. Half the team is out for various reasons.
Unless you're at every practice, or privy to inside information, you won't know anything until August 31st.

I see both sides discussed in this thread. However, I think the flashes we saw on defense are legit. Sammy Brown getting around Tristan Leigh, as an example, at the beginning of the game.....yep, nasty, insane, etc.

OK. The reality is we are still thin/inexperienced at DE. That is the only weak spot I can see on this defense. Even Dabo said as much yesterday.

Chesty, before you get all upset and have to breathe into a paper bag, keep in mind that our defense was pitted against the vaunted Dabo offense.
