4-star OL recruit Oluwatosin Babalade just de-committed. He is 6'5" and 310lbs.
Add that to their transfers (RB MarShawn Lloyd, TE Jaheim Bell, DB RJ Roderick, etc), early departures of the NFL bound players (DB Cam Smith, DL Zacch Pickens), other departures (TE Traevon Kenion), plus OC Satterfield's departure, and things are looking rough in Columbia!

Our fanbase is so toxic right now, mostly from the pumpers. They really think we've turned the corner after beating you guys by a point.
I remember walking out of Death Valley in 2014 and you could feel in the atmosphere that the momentum in the rivalry had switched back over to you guys. I have a feeling when you guys walked out of the stadium two weeks ago that you still expect to be double digit favorites over us next year.
It's a real tough time in cootville for those of us who see the problems.

I have a bestie church friend Anne in Columbia. Pretty big donor. She is torn up. A realist so she didn't razz me too much when she won. She understands what we were going through with the offense etc. Obviously excited but concerned with the decomitts and the OC hire.
Apparently she and some other boosters were hearing Arkansas and made the leap/assumption that Shane had convinced briles to come on board. Any insight? She really wanted Jeff Scott and made that push. Not that she's that close to the administration.
You guys had a good class and seemingly had a nucleus of guys coming back. So, dumbfounded on what's going on. Any insight appreciated. Good luck and best wishes.

Unfortunately, Beamer has kept everything close to the vest. All of our insiders were getting bad information or no information. It was pretty sad how they would say one thing then the search would go a completely different direction.
I have a feeling that Beamer likes Loggains for some reason and really sees this as an opportunity to prove he's smarter than the fanbase. He seemed really thin skinned during his press conferences this year.
Of course, it could just be a quid pro quo situation with Jimmy Sexton. He's the agent for both Beamer and Loggains. Sexton manipulated Ray Tanner into hiring Beamer when no other FBS team would offer him the job. Maybe he just has to pay Jimmy back for the job?

Seems like a pretty significant gamble for Beamer though if the guy doesn't work out. Then they are both out of a job.

this many players are leaving early or transferring. It is as if they feel they have reached the pinnacle and might as well move on.

I think it's pretty obvious we are heading for a cliff in 2023.
As much as Muschamp couldn't hire coordinators, he could recruit. He left a good core of the team with Pickens, Cam Smith, Darius Rush, Burch, Bell, Lloyd etc.
I'll give Beamer credit for bringing in Rattler that helped a real missing piece. But a lot of our success is because of that core and is moving on this year. Including our mediocre but senior laden OL.
Maybe I'm overly negative and Beamer will prove me wrong. But next year is going to be a real test of his ability to coach. I think most of us saw that coming and knew we needed a great OC hire. I think we'll see our DC was a bit overrated after losing those defensive players so it was even more
