Ready for the annual ND national championship hype?

Aug 7, 2015, 9:11 AM

But as Kelly rattled through his opening statements, confidently talking about the many strengths on this team’s roster, he made it clear that nobody inside The Gug was ducking the ultimate goal.

“Everybody knows the mission, and the fact is we don’t play for conference championships,” Kelly said. “They know how difficult it is to complete the mission. And the only way to complete that mission is to stay focused and stay on task and stay incredibly disciplined day to day or they can’t accomplish that.”

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

They are in the perfect place to make their move.

They are top ten and have the hype going. Now it's time for someone to burst their bubble.

We take advantage of this when they come visit us. With their media respect they won't drop far and we might make an early season move into the top ten. Perhaps to #7 if all works well.

GT will beat them week 3

I know ND plays navy and while navy is a good program and solid team year in and year out. They are no GT and PJ is better than that Hawaiian guy (no offense but I think his name is something long).

Navys best athlete would be run of the mill in Atlanta.

What's wrong with what Kelly said? Isn't it Clemson's goal to win the national championship? Isn't it every team's goal to win the national championship?

Only at Notre Dame can a team drop 5 of their last 6 games and start the next season Top 10 and with NC hype.

Dabo's said for years that he'd love to play ND. Now's our shot to show the nation how overrated they really are.

(and this is coming from an Irish Catholic that grew up dreaming of attending ND)

ND is ranked # 11 in the Coaches poll. The only place I have ND ND in the top 10 is in Sports Illustrated. I don't know a whole lot of folks that put a lot of stock in SI's predictions. I have not seen any source predict that ND will be playing for the championship.
But yes, we will see how ND and Clemson stack up on October 3. It promises to be one of the best games of the season.
