Notre Dame S Drue Tranquill out for season.( team injuries )

Sorry for him and wish him a fast recovery.
"Notre Dame is down its sixth key player for the season, as sophomore safety Drue Tranquill has torn the ACL in his right knee, the school announced Sunday.
Tranquill left Saturday's 30-22 win over Georgia Tech after falling awkwardly on the way down from a chest bump with Joe Schmidt following a crucial third-down pass breakup in the end zone late in the second quarter.
Coach Brian Kelly said Tranquill is expected to undergo surgery within two weeks after doing some rehabilitation work.
Tranquill, who was making his first start of the season, joins a list of ailing Fighting Irish players that includes starting quarterback Malik Zaire (broken right ankle), starting running back Tarean Folston (torn right ACL), starting tight end Durham Smythe (torn right MCL), starting defensive tackle Jarron Jones (torn right MCL) and starting nickelback Shaun Crawford (torn ACL)"

Can't imagine the pain & disappointment of ND's Tranquill since he had just gitten back in shape from another similar injury. I heard him scream out with pain & anguish & disbelief after the freak injury and felt for him!
Wishing him & all other FB players speedy recoveries from their injuries.

I saw the that as well. Over the last 5 years I have seen 3 guys blow out their knees for doing that chest bump (fsu player/uga player/and this guy). Maybe their knees were gonna blow any way I don't know, but as physical as the game is and as much risk as they take with knee injuries playing-I wish they would give up on the chest bump. Or least just shake hands in celebration.

Unfortunately, injuries are a big part of football and how a team copes with key injuries largely determines their success or failure during the season.

We need to take it to them form whistle to whistle.
I want to see the Tigers just bully them out of DV.
They probably think Clemson will be soft and a flashy team.

Why would ND think that a highly ranked team is soft? That makes no sense.

You old guys might remember a similar thing happened to Too Tall Jones (Dallas Cowboys) years ago under Tom Landry as HC. Jones scored a TD, did a high five or chest bump, and injured his knee when he landed. Landry made it a rule for his players to never do that move again.
Correct me where all that is wrong. It's been a long time ago.
Maybe college FB coaches need to follow Landry's decision.
That said - I hated to see that injury - and right after a huge play. Sad for him.

I hated hearing the poor kid screaming on the ground after it happened. Should be mandatory viewing in all locker rooms. I cringe every time a Tiger jumps while running down the hill. It is too easy to blow out a knee. Also happened to an NFL kicker if I remember correctly.
