Rumors swirling with FSU from multiple sites - have read from B10 sites of this happening and FSU247 and NoleCast though the FSU sites don’t believe anything happens til closer to the 8/15 deadline. Who’s next? My guess….UNC

Well D Hood posted similar on this story on FB so I do believe there are legs to it. I do trust NoleCast as those 2 guys are pretty spot on and they do believe something is brewing before the 8/15 deadline.

Agreed. I posted similar story on my page about FSU leaving which did get a like from Hood. I’m fairly certain this same story is what he’s alluding to. And usually where there is smoke, there is fire

You must notify the ACC your intentions to leave by 8/15 or else you’re subject to staying 2 full seasons even if a way is found around the GOR.

First i've heard of a deadline but i sincerely hope the powers that be at Clemson wouldn't be stupid enough to sign off on something like that. Can you offer a link where this deadline is talked about?

Is that just for this year or any year? Subject to staying 2 full seasons after any year of declaring before 8/15 of that given year?

I heard the guys on NoleCast talk about the deadline. These 2 guys are very honest and insightful. As a Clemson fan, I still enjoy listening to them. This is what I’ve read and heard multiple accounts of this deadline date set each year:
On the FSU 247 board, the admins posted that FSU is seriously looking to get out of the ACC and has to notify the conference by 8/15, or it is subject to staying 2 full season even if they found a way around the GOR.

Clemson and FSU have both made it clear that they cannot continue to remain in the ACC unless things drastically change (which they won't).
Both schools have made it very clear that their first responsibility is to do what is in the best interest of each school, not the ACC.

So do you believe there is smoke to this? I’ve heard there is ALOT of talk about their notifying ACC by 8/15. I read this earlier:
From my understanding, and I'll be a bit more open about what has been discussed around Florida State.
- They have a home waiting for them in the Big Ten if they want to take it.
- From what I was told, they will purchase back their rights. Yearly installments? Not sure
- The entire reason Tony P. didn't say the Big Ten isn't adding more schools today is because they are. The focus can remain with USC and UCLA for another year and have Florida State join in 2025 or 2026.
- Miami is the travel partner.
- Florida State doesn't want to wait.

And, it may be true. But, it also may be just someone writing up a scenario based on nothing more than just what a good fiction writer could come up with.
I've seen way too many stories (about recruiting, politics, etc.) based on "inside sources" and include words such as "trust me" and "I'm telling you this will happen" etc.
Remember, I peculated a year ago that the announcement would be made no later than last March that FSU and Clemson were leaving the ACC. I just said it was my speculation based on what I thought might happen. If I ran a website and got paid by the click, I could have rewritten it as a fact.
Once again, I would love for the story to be true. But, as of now, color me doubtful.

I haven’t paid attention to any of the FSU leaving the ACC rumors, but if things are starting to go into action do y’all think that FSU and maybe Clemson would try to to join the SEC?

I don’t agree with this statement. I think FSU and Clemson are exploring all avenues to not be left behind. They have no particular desire to leave the ACC, but with not much hope of the ACC magically becoming competitive financially, they have no choice but to look at leaving.
