My kneejerk reactions.

1. I've been around football long enough to know this one axiom - Never get too high over one win or too low over one loss. This was a big win, but it was ONE game.
2. I have no idea what went on at halftime, but whatever adjustments the coaching staff - both sides of the ball - made. But, they worked. I know one thing for sure; I would have never thought to go to two running backs and have the TE act like a pulling guard and be a lead blocker.
3. Unlike a lot of FSU fans on message boards during the game, I'm not ready to pencil in FSU for a 12-0 season and a playoff birth. It is ONE game.
4. I sure hope the 2nd half is far more the true Nole team than the first half was.
5. I expect to see two undefeated teams under the lights with GameDay in Death Valley in a few weeks.

Good take. One difference, the margin. This wasn't a sloppy 20-17 game. Is lsu overrated at 5? Perhaps some being sec etc, but they're still a really good team.
FSU looked mid season form in the 2nd half. Definitely a legit top 5 team. Perhaps top 3. This is opening game, of course there's some sloppiness. That's easily corrected. 2 things, you have a legit qb and legit wr. Also the trenches can hold their own against anyone.
Congratulations. I really think if we split and both wind up 12-1 that both will be in the playoffs. Obviously that depends on other teams.

He was breaking off that tackle in the first couple of possessions. But generally, that front 4-7 is stout in the right situations.
Secondary was suspect. That will be the goal of the season I think: get them better. Huge busts. That 75 yd play at the end sort if seemed fitting.
But in general agree that the OL is a fine unit and the new WR talent are fitting nicely. Will def be a huge test for us.

I'm no expert, but I think two of the early big plays by LSU...

...were directly the result of a linebacker (#4, DeLoach) was lost and totally out of position.

I thought they looked really good. Ran the ball, threw the ball, stuffed the run, sacked an extremely elusive QB. They looked dangerous all over the place.

Or, how will the FSU team respond to adversity, injuries, a close loss? Only time will tell. Now we get to see how the real Tigers respond to a crowd of eggheads.

Hoping it is 70 to 80 percent Tigers as has been the case in the past when we play Duke. So hopefully not that many eggheads.

JK - Noles looked tough tonight, for sure. Impressive win any way you look at it. Long way to go though.

That sounds way too familiar from some of our previous offensive assistants. Congrats on the impressive win.

Bret, you guys played lights out. One game, 1/2 game it does not matter. Easily top 4 imo after week 1 and I watched a lot of football this weekend.

LSU fans once FSU started pouring it on.
In fact the game somewhat reminded me of ours against Bama in our stunning rout for the national title in which our team came out in the second half, took complete control and laid on the beatdown. Similiar score, too, other than Bama never put up more points after the second quarter.
Congrats on that great victory...good for FSU, good for the conference, and, I think, even better to shut the mouths of the know-it-all junkalists posing as analysts!

The second-half version of the Noles was impressive. I enjoyed watching our ACC brother manhandle a highly ranked SEC team. Sets up quite a showdown in Death Valley September 23.

of us. If us, FSU and the holes are legit, it will bolster whoever comes out of the ACC. 9/23 will be electric, as it should be when Clemson and Florida St play. I'm no ACC homer, but good football is good football, and every team looks forward to big games against good teams. Glad we have you guys under the lights in the Valley

I expected LSU to lay one on you, Brett, and I was thankfully wrong! Glad FSU is back, that is a good thing. Hope we beat you bad on the 23rd, of course, but otherwise win them all!

FSU looked good last night. I was impressed with the adjustments. I am honestly surprised that FSU even had that variant of a spread flex bone even installed in their package. It was kind of a spread hybrid of a flex bone and Wing T. It worked. LSU was totally confused. It definitely compensated for the most matches between O.L. and D.L.
