My only question is that before or after they put the whole dorm under air conditioning? Before 1970, west facing rooms were unbearable from Noon on until October. Fans pushing hot air still left one's room hot.

You were lucky you didn't live in the barracks in early fifties.!! Of course, we didn't know what A/C was back then.

I have never lived in an air conditioned house in my entire life and I’ll soon be 83! I may have rented an apartment in Winston Salem in 1964 for a few months that had air but it was an old house so I don’t think it was. I’ve always been cool!!! Go Tigers

Yes I remember it well...my room faced north before the ac...one semester in New A ...then in E facing east the rest of the time...remember stick hockey in the halls with Tide!
