So sad for him. I hope he had good insurance.

some kind of injury insurance available but the player has to buy it as I recall. Seems I heard this a year or two ago.

I hope Marcus recovers, if he dedicates the next two years to rehabbing his leg, I think he will be every bit the back he was his freshman year in college and then some. I enjoyed watching you Mr.Lattimore, from one South Carolinian to another, hope you make it all the way back and fulfill your NFL dream and represent our state proudly!

"Reportedly"

That is the same story that was going around yesterday. Noone still knows the exact extent of his injury except probably Marcus, his family, and some Gamecock staff.

Not a chance. He will be lucky to be able to walk at some

point without a cane. They are going to have to rebuild an entire knee for him. He isn't going to play football again, anymore than someone with an artifical hip is going to.

Willis Mcgahee came back from something similar I believe***

He did. He tore everything but the PCL I think. He had to fight his doctors to reconstruct his knee. They were recommending amputation.

Hate it for him. One of the few SC players I can actually stand. Great guy from what I understand and he definitely had a bright future in the NFL. I was standing with one of my athletic trainers working a soccer game when we saw the video of it. He's a 20+ year veteran of athletic training and he couldn't stand to watch it. And his immediate reaction was that Marcus will never play football again. Good thing for Latti is he's an intelligent guy away from the field and will probably make himself a good career... possibly even as a motivational speaker considering what he has gone through in his three years of college playing.

I have heard from Gamecock friends that a news conference is scheduled for 2:00 to discuss injuries to #21. Praying they are not as gruesome as "reported".
