Check out the 2nd play in the clip. Look at what UNC's RB did to him in the hole. Not a good look. To be honest he really hasn't been that good this year and it started at Duke. He's had tons of miss tackles and has largely been responsible for all the long runs of late on miss fits because he went to the wrong gap. His draft stock likely has taken a big hit and might force him back next year.

Move Woodaz to Carter's inside LB spot and move Carter to the SAM outside linebacker spot. Kinda like what we did with Simpson/Carter last year. That might help cut down on some of the miss fit errors.

extremely good running and our corner ended up making an even better play than Hampton did. That’s all that matters in the end. Carter has played outstanding this season and will go on to get drafted no lower than the 2nd round if he decides make the the jump to the NFL. You trolls are still trying to bring down this football program. Not gonna happen. We are on our way back to competing for a national title next season.

Lmao! Dude, Carter has not had a good year at all by any stretch of the imagination. He's constantly blowing assignments and losing leverage/pad level in shedding blocks...Those long runs by Maye the other night?? Carter was on spy duty and got washed completely out...he's a liability in coverage and his mind is often two plays behind...I would like to see him transition to a different LB position or leave Clemson.

You must have been watching a different Clemson team than the rest of us. He has consistently rated pretty low in the PFF LB grades in most of the games this season. I don't think there's any question that he was much much better last year. Tape doesn't lie. He did though set a pretty high bar after his 2022 campaign. He definitely may be like Bresee and get a pass from the Pro scouts for a below average season by his standards because he's such a physical freak.

As much as I'd love Carter coming back, him having a down year may not be enough.
Dude is a freak and would probably be a combine warrior. Like Bresee, sometimes the measurables are going to overcome a down year.

Carter has been good this year but not great. I feel he is playing out of position though. Would love to see him come back.
Trotter on the other hand is NFL ready.

BTW he is gone. The NFL is very high on him.

Yall are weird. He 66th overall on PFFs big board, 11 ahead of Trotter. Not meeting absurdly inflated expectations is not the same as having a bad or even down season.

He didn't really have both feet set under him. I wouldn't call that a trucking.
He got grazed really well and was already off balance.
