https://www.collegefactual.com/colleges/clemson-university/student-life/sports/Clemson University Athletics Programs Learn more about Clemson University sports programs, including how well they rank, how many student athletes the schools has, how much financial aid each student receives , and more.
“In terms of financials, Clemson collected $124,601,614 in revenue and paid out $122,718,610 in expenses. In other words, the sports department made a profit of $1,883,004.”
Until this figure changes, don’t expect any significant changes. Whether it’s right or wrong is irrelevant when it all boils down to dollars & cents.

Not a good example. It is government. Going to spend close to what they take in every year. Is that IPTAY money?

Seems we have saved some big money on assistant football coaches this year as well.

As best I’ve determined in the past this only includes IPTAY money that IPTAY pays directly to the University - which is predominantly scholarship. Any carryover balance IPTAY has or payments to entities not under the University umbrella are not included here.

No that's not how it works.

College athletic departments are tax exempt nonprofit entities; they all seek to match revenues and expenditures as closely as possible. The "profit" you reference was likely reinvested into the universities general budget or used to pay down some outstanding long term liability.

Just more BS as to why we must be content with permanent

mediocrity. It's a load of crap. Anybody who really believes that Clemson just can't afford to be any better in basketball is pathetically weak minded. It may be about, in part, what we do with the money available, but we are not doomed to endless mediocrity because of a lack of money; we are where we are because of choices and conscious decisions. Making better choices and decisions going forward can change it all.

Saying, why not since report did mention women’s basketball.
Thx goodness for Football with a net profit of $5,728,628 so to carry the loss $ amount of all of the other sports teams..
like: Baseball with loss of $1,447,120..Men’sSoccer at loss of $1,103,442..and Men’s Golf with loss of only $606,563.

You’re missing the point I’m trying to make, which is essentially that the top-brass at Clemson won’t show much motivation to make any changes because of the fact that they’re making a profit currently.
It’s not an excuse as to why we should be content where we are currently, in fact it’s the exact opposite. If anything, these figures prove that Clemson DOES in fact have the money available to make a bigger investment in basketball. But when they’re making more money than they’re spending, it’s hard to imagine them doing anything to change the current situation.
