Jeff Herron to TL Hanna?

Feb 15, 2017, 8:21 AM

Anyone know the reasoning behind this?

Herron running from GHSA officials?

Feb 15, 2017, 8:34 AM

There were some rumblings about recruiting at Grayson this year and GHSA was looking into it.

He says its financial and closer to family. Can be on Georgia retirement and collect a full salary. I'm not sure how that would compare to his current gig. Georgia high schools and booster clubs pay out the wazoo for good coaches. It would be a huge red flag for someone to jump jobs this much.

Herron said because the job at T.L. Hanna is out-of-state it appealed to him because it would allow him to go on retirement in Georgia and also still collect a full salary in South Carolina. It's also allows him to be closer to his family.

Sorry for the double post of info. Previous post hadn't appeared yet.

His new job at TL Hanna will pay somewhere around the $100,000 to $105,000 range.
This would give him the opportunity to eventually collect a retirement from both states.

Tom Knotts at Dutch Fork(SC) coached in the state of North Carolina for many years before moving to SC for similar reasons.
