This happens to me every year and I’m curious if any of y’all feel the same way.
Last week I stopped reading practice reports. Not just for other teams, but for ours as well. It’s the same articles every year just different names. August college practice reports is the equivalent of NFL preseason games.
I said all that to say tee it up.

I read more this year than the last 3-4 just because I feel good about a new offense and I was over our slow vanilla offense.

It’s strange. I read every little tidbit of spring practice but easily get burnt out on August practice. Maybe because August practice is somewhat a repeat of spring?

It's intentionally formulaic - coaches and media replaying snippets and cliches from the files of year's gone by. The vets will start early games until a handful of the most talented underclassmen (e.g. PWoo) pass some of the vets by. That said, the countdown to kickoff is still pretty great. Labor Day tee time will be an event. Go Tigers!

Agree, I stopped reading them a few years ago for the most part. Same ole stuff. Everyone is going to be great, looks great, blah blah blah. Coaches aren’t going to give any real info and media only gets to see what the coaches want them to see. It’s like North Korea.
No hiding it at game time once it’s out in the open. We’ll see if this team has an offense with a pulse real soon.

First game is usually a buzz kill. Expectations: 3 plays and a touchdown. Reality: 3 plays and a punt.

coaches (excluding Clemson University Tigers). It's the same old coach speak over and over. Blah blah blah.
That's why I'm going to miss Mike Leach -- he was worth listening to. Also Kiffin is a good interview. Saban from time to time. The others...not so much.

You make a good point. I find myself skimming over the paragraphs talking about Woods, Trotter, Carter, Davis, etc., but slow down and read about the younger players like Crayton, Anderson, Parker, Reed, and Flapjack!
