I met Joe Namath last September

Over the years I have had the opportunity to meet several sports/Hollywood "celebrity" types.

Joe Namath was hands down the nicest, most genuine, one of the lot. When he found out I went to Clemson, he told me about his friendship with Bill Mathis and attending a Clemson game with him in 1970 where he was introduced to Coach Howard. He and Frank Howard became friends and even exchanged gag Christmas gifts for as long as Coach Howard lived. We somehow got onto the subject of cooking and exchanged tips for our favorite meat and fish recipes. We talked for almost 20 minutes. When it was time for me to go, I was the one who had to cut off the conversation.
