ESPN: Clemson #1 Skill Unit, #4 OL unit in CFB

Jun 13, 2016, 3:14 PM

...and the OL love was from Ed Cunningham.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/16103140/alabama-crimson-tide-clemson-tigers-iowa-hawkeyes-rank-college-football-best-position-groups

Brock Huard's top skill groups

1. Clemson Tigers (QB Deshaun Watson, RB Wayne Gallman, WR Artavis Scott)

2. Oklahoma Sooners (QB Baker Mayfield, RB Samaje Perine, WR Dede Westbrook)

3. Houston Cougars (QB Greg Ward Jr., RB Duke Catalon, WR Steven Dunbar)

4. Ole Miss Rebels (QB Chad Kelly, RB Jordan Wilkins, TE Evan Engram)

Ed Cunningham's top offensive lines <-----whhhhaaaat????

1. Iowa Hawkeyes: LG Boone Myers, RT Ike Boettger, C/RG Sean Welsh
Iowa will miss center Austin Blythe, but Myers, Boettger, Welsh and Cole Croston have combined for 51 career starts and weigh in at an average of 302 pounds, helping keep QB C.J. Beathard upright.

2. Alabama Crimson Tide: LT Cam Robinson (editor's note: these rankings were compiled before Robinson's arrest), C Ross Pierschbacher, RG Alphonse Taylor

3. Florida State Seminoles: LT Rod Johnson, C Alec Eberle, RG Wilson Bell

4. Clemson: LT Mitch Hyatt, C Jay Guillermo, RG Tyrone Crowder

5. Boise State Broncos: RG Steven Baggett, LG Travis Averill, RT Mario Yakoo

Did Brock Huard watch last year's orange Bowl?? Westbrook held to 4 receptions, Perine had 15 carries for 58 yards (3.9 avg per carry) and the Demi-God Baker Mayfield ran the ball 10 times for -15 yards and completed 26/41 with 2 interceptions.

How does that equate to #2 "skill group" in the nation? Fml. If I hear "air raid offense" one more time, I'm going to puke. Oklahoma sucks.

That's utter BS. They said that Bama's O and D line would destroy Clemson's last year. many even said that Bama's D-line was the best that Satan has ever assembled and would compete with any in college football history. We seen how the Clemson O-line ended up with 550 yards of offense. Go Tigers show that the big and nasty's are ready to take it to them again.

ESecPN has a love affair with the old guard, be it their SEC progeny or schools like Oklahoma and Ohio St .
No matter what any other teams ( see Clemson ) show and prove , they will always be viewed as second tier by the sports networkers at ESecPN ...just the way it is .
Not a theory , in plain sight each and every CFB season .

To be fair, most of that was Watson. We couldn't run bt the tackles

Jun 13, 2016, 4:55 PM [ in reply to Re: ESPN: Clemson #1 Skill Unit, #4 OL unit in CFB ]

on Bama and Watson did see quite a bit of pressure, he was just able to escape most of it and burn Bama with his legs.

Booger is well named. Have you ever heard him speak? Did

Jun 13, 2016, 5:51 PM
