Half of them will transfer out 9 months later making that “ranking” totally irrelevant on the actual playing field. College Football is in a total whirlwind..

Because so many teams have lots of portal players from year to year, any poll taken on team rankings would be purely a wild guess.

It is hard to believe that the people who used to police college football so carefully are now the ones who are destroying it with the portal and NIL.

I would hate to be a coach today; they can't possible know who their teams will be composed of from time to time, and NO sense of loyalty from players - it's who gets there next with the most money.

The NCAA is now entirely toothless. They didn't spearhead NIL and Transfer rules, they were forced, by courts, to accept them. If it were up to them, none of this would be happening.

You can also throw out there being any emphasis on academics, gpa minimum maintenance, graduation rates, or even going to class. When was the last time you heard someone was ineligible to play because of grades?!!
