I know he was at a mini camp for the Panthers and then he vanished. Any links?

He was asking for highlights a couple weeks back to show to some Canadian teams. So he's trying to go the CFL route.

I think what hurt him was how he left the Redskins….

and of course the season ending injury his rookie season with the Browns. Mike Shanahan can be a major #### and has a history of players not getting along with him. But in Davis' case he was just trying to get a spot on the team. If your just trying to make the team, the worst mistake you can make is not getting along with the head coach, even a well known #### hole like Shanahan. Other teams will look at that and are not going to want a player that can be that touchy that he can't keep his emotions in check when he is just trying to get a roster spot.
James Davis is a good person, but at time he seems to sensitive. Good example was when he got upset Dabo didn't give his brother an invitation for a visit. An invitation that Mike Davis wasn't even considering, and Mike Davis repeatedly said throughout his recruiting process don't pay any attention to what his brother James said.

I forgot bout the injury in cleveland but never knew about him and shanahan not seeing eye to eye..just a shame he isnt on a team contributing...In watching some of the teams in the NFL and seeing what they have at rb, I know davis is just as good or better.

yeah, Shanahan blasted him publicly to the media...

making comments about his "attitude". Remember though you have to take what Shanahan says about players with a grain of salt, with his notorious reputation of not getting along with some players. Shannon Sharpe, who won two super bowls with Shanahan, even blasted him a few years back saying that Shanahan was a fool if thought he could make Jake Plummer a franchise QB. And John Elway couldn't stand Shanahan.

RB. But CJ was better. Even though they got split carries, it baffles me why he started over CJ. James was good but CJ was better, no matter what way you put it. I hope dabo learns from this mistake and puts the better player over the more "experienced" one because the senior is not always better than the junior

well early on james shouldve been in over cj, because cj wouldnt stick it between the tackles and get the tough yards he danced too much....I know this isnt popular but CJ just isnt an every down back...now hes an explosive player and later in his career here he got better at sticking it inside but hes still a back you game plan to get on the edge or out in space and get him involved in the passing game as well

JD was a heck of an inside runner--also seemed to be a great kid at CU. I think he's had some really bad breaks with pretty major injuries, and maybe that boils over to saying some things he would probably like to take back in hindsight. We all say or do things we regret when frustration sets in.

Davis was much better between the tackles. It wasn't til his junior year that CJ would even try to stay inside. CJ was so incredible because of everything else he did. Teams had to know it was coming, but CJ on the wheel route was pretty much a guaranteed TD every game.
