Doc Hoover passed away last night

Sad day for Clemson and was a great ambassador for the university and football program. You think Danny Poole has been around for awhile, Doc Hoover was around for a lot longer than that and trained Danny Poole.

Thoughts go out to his family and the entire Clemson family.

Thanks for everything Doc....

A very big part of Clemson athletics for many many years. There was nothing like him and he will be impossible to replace.

Doc Hoover, I believe, was 92.

I remember meeting him when my first semester at Clemson (Fall of 97). Always had the same look on his face and hardly said a word. He kept'em straight in the training room though!!

Rest in Peace Doc!!

I first met him before he came to Clemson

He was a 2nd Lt in the Air Force stationed at Presque Isle AFB, ME. I was a sophomore in high school. When I got to Clemson and saw him we both had that "Where do I know you from" look on our face the first time we saw each other there I remembered and asked him if he had been stationed
there.
