Darden as Friday night?

An okay start here but stuck and just gave up a run. Still bases loaded no out. I think Grice has got to be the Friday night. He’s the ace and should be used to get the 1st win and momentum.

Giving Darden a chance here though if he can get out of this.

The reason why Grice is a Sunday starter is so we can have him play 1b for the first two games.

If Grice pitches Friday, he likely doesn't play Saturday. Throwing him Sunday allows for him to rest on Monday

I don’t think it works that way. Playing at 1st doesn’t require a throwing arm. Even when he does it’s one throw 90 ft. Also he hits when he pitches so it doesn’t affect his hitting. He actually hits better when he pitches. I understand the caution taken though.

Professional pitchers still train the immediate day after pitching. And for the days leading up to next start. In fact, he’s played after pitching before. I mean you’re arguing against something that’s happened.
