I’ll give you that. So really we can’t compare the two. We don’t know how Cade would look on that 2014 team and we don’t know how Cole would look with this years team.

Hard to get that Georgia Tech loss with the two pick sixes from Cole out of my mind. But then I think about the fumble six with Cade against FSU and think that even Cole would’ve seen or sensed that blitz coming and gotten rid of the ball.
I’ll go back to DeShawn and Trevor in perpetuity.

BS. the Chad wasn't willing or capable of adjusting to fit Coles greater talents. And a bunch of "grown ups" on TN found it easier to pile on than make a pretty easy observation.
And talking crap about Cade ain't helping us, him, the team and sure as #### ain't going to help recruiting.

Stoudt was 63% passing with 1892 yards passing, 9 tds, 10 int his senior year.
Klubnik was 63% passing with 2,844 yards passing 19 tds, 9 int his sophomore year.
Come on guys. Don't let recency bias get the best of you. Stoudt stunk on a different level and had 1 good game.

This is the dumbest argument I’ve seen in a long time…anyone saying 3 and out Cole Stoudt who had 1 good game was better than Cade is delusional… he had way more talent around him and still was not great…not trying to hate on Cole he was a Clemson man and I appreciate his efforts…
But let’s not be ridiculous here and use bias and rose tinted glasses against Cade.
Be realistic with Cade who just started his first full year st the college level in a new offense with little true talent around him, as well as a change in the college land scape where you have 23-25 year old QBs out there…

I think, for the 2023 season, Cade was better than what Cole was in the 2014 season.
When Cole played in a good chunk of the 2014 season since Watson was injured, we would often go 3 & out on offense. He also threw interceptions frequently in some games such as Georgia Tech. Some referred to him as 3 & Stoudt.
I'd say Cole's performance resembled more that of DJ's 2021 performance. We had a hard time getting first downs. The offensive numbers in 2014, if taking only Cole's stats, probably resembled closer to 2021's values.
With Cade, we moved the ball a bit well, but, in the first 8 games, we turned the ball over too often and had trouble scoring in the red zone. I don't think getting first downs was an issue, and even in our losses, we had more first downs than the opponent.

Good take and not all of those turnovers were Cades fault, he couldn’t help when the RBs would fumble on the goal line…
If anything Kelly Bryant is a better argument of having a better season as a starter in their first year but still having struggles.

Cade was a winner throughout his high school career in the TOUGHEST “conference” in the country.
That kind of winning performance doesn’t just disappear at the college level, but it is tempered by the talent gap between high school and college.
Cade’s made developmental mistakes, but that last drive in the Gator Bowl against Kentucky, after limping off a couple of series earlier, showed not only his SKILL and COMPOSURE, but MOXY.
He was “cool under fire as a mountain lake”. Absolutely CLASSIC and BEAUTIFUL to watch.
