I say good riddance.they can crown a champion of their 34 team universe, and I will be fine with us playing for the championship of the ROY world.
And I will enjoy participating in NCAA sponsored events like March Madness and CWS while presumably those same 34 schools travel all over the country to compete for a significantly less significant prize in all other sports.
I don’t love the NCAA, but I wish they would just call “The Big Two”’s bluff.

Clemson would become a second tier school

While South Carolina and Georgia would be a top tier school. We would need to stop playing South Carolina because they would beat us almost every year. I can't get on board with that.

Please, that record is the past, it does nothing to comfort the pain of losing to them season after season while you're living through it...

Clemson has to be in the elite group. I don't think SEC, Big 10, or ACC will be around in 2 to 3 years. But there will be a big boy division. We have to be a part of that. Go Tigers!!!!

But the Big Boy Division will be connected to the Universities only in the sense that the football teams will be licensed to use the Universities' names on their jerseys and play their Saturday Professional games on or near the campus of the University.

that will be paid higher media rights than the “NCAA” group. The NCAA March madness rights end in 2032 but imagine there are out clauses/renegotiation terms if the membership changes by some factor - the b10 and SEC teams leaving would definitely trigger that. There is a reason ESPn starting pumping SEC basketball and the selection criteria was altered and it has favored the SEC/B10 in bids

like stadium size/attendance, school enrollment, etc a closed system like the NFL will fail - it will not generate the type of audience - college fans of all other schools not in it will not watch, they’ll find other things to do. The quality of play is not the NFL and people largely watch and participate I their fandom based on their association with a particular school. Clemson fans aren’t going to watch UGA or USC games because that’s the closest team in their region. They are going to go to their games and get their Saturdays back. I don’t watch Furman because they are in the area. Nothing against them but they don’t impact Clemson because they are not in the same division. That apples above and below. That said - Clemson will be in the highest division whatever that looks like. Still will fail to reach the growth they think it will. You don’t grow the sport by losing your audience. After the 1st overpayment by the media, the schools will have to then start slashing “salaries” and they will have overbuilt facilities and have debt issues.a number of schools want like it from the start as unlike the NFL most teams could not and never will be able to compete for a championship

I’m starting to agree with you. I’m afraid if Clemson goes the $$$ route it’s going to lose what makes it so great.

The Clemson people is the total package of what makes Clemson great, not a conference, and the Clemson people also love winning just as much as anyone else!!!

If that happens and Clemson is left out, you WILL see our FB regress back to the Tommy West times with our FB program. Remember those days, the AD and the BOTs would hire who ever wanted to coach at Clemson that didn't cost that much to get them!!!
