Change in off philosophy

Getting TL, AND if we get White, will we go away from read run option and go to a pro style offense? Curious

It'll be similar to what we saw this year I believe. Watson really didn't run much but could when he had to. Same with Lawrence. He isn't Michael Vick but he's also not a statue out there

He's athletic enough to do about what Watson did with his legs.

BRING IN THE VEER!

Seriously though, it will be interesting. A blend of Pro style and Spread RPO? That's interesting. First off, I have no clue, I'm just arbitrarily speculating... Butttttt, I think we have already started slowly transitioning into a new style. Last year Watson ran a lot less, and I felt like our offense became more pro-style (compared to other years of Clemson's offense), granted I know our bread and butter (Watson's bread and butter) was smart RPO decision making.

Now, I think schemes in football are cyclical with small variations everytime they come up. I also think across the CFB realm, the spread is king (for now).

But I don't think a pro style offense and spread RPO's are mutually exclusive. I think a lot of pro style formations can be adapted with spread principles involved. Let's see if I can link an image in this post...

Bear with me, the image is from those yankee n3wbs we met in December.
But if I get the image working, look at this formation. This is a look I expect our tigers to start adapting in the next couple of years. You could do so many shenaningans with sending someone in motion (TE lined as WR brought in for blocking, or a TE in for blocking, motioning out and running a route), that you can easily run an power runs with that second back. I think that over the next couple of years, our offensive will hinge on a smart QB, not a mobile QB.
