Using Josh Dobbs & Dak Prescott to compare to DW as a runner
Jan 7, 2016, 8:48 PM

is totally ridiculous.
They are "dual threat" QBs under the strictest definition, but neither has anywhere near the skill set or the stats that Deshaun Watson has demonstrated.
SCar held Dobbs to 35 yards rushing and Arkansas held him to 7 total yards on the ground.
Dak Prescott was -19 yards rushing against LSU and he had 14 yards against Auburn.
Meanwhile, Deshaun had 93 rushing yards against Notre Dame, 107 against FSU, and 131 against UNC ... not to mention the 114 he laid on the gamecocks.

Dak is a great quarterback but neither of them have the passing skills or can read a defense like DW. Neither of them have our receivers nor coaching staff either.

Agree, and that's my point ... they gave Bama a game, but

they are no way, shape, or form, comparable to DW.
Bama has not seen the likes of Deshaun Watson since Cam Newton.

of DW and the Waynetrain, they'll get to watch the numbers on the back of Artavis' and Charone's jerseys as they scamper downfield........why people are discounting Deshaun's passing ability escapes me

People aren't dismissing DW's passing ability.

Bama has played no one who passes with DW's accuracy so ESPiN can't make a case for Bama stopping DW's passing game. That leaves them ignoring that DW's passing game is the main reason he's able to clear out secondary defenders and gain so many yards on the ground.
Does anyone really expect ESPiN to say, "There is no way to stop this kid. If you stop his passing game he will kill you on the ground but if you try to focus on the run he will destroy you by throwing frozen ropes to one of his nine or ten sure handed receivers?"
I didn't think so.

Brandon Allen has a better passing efficiency than DW, and Chad Kelly's is the same as DW. That's not to know DW because he is better than either of them, by far.

Notre Dame, North Carolina, and South Carolina aren't even in the Top 50 in rushing defense. FSU is #37. Show me some real opponents that Watson has had great game against.
Roll Tide!!!

I think Watson is better, but people sleep on Dak as a college qb.
His career #'s
734-1169 62.8%
70 TDS 22 ints
536 attempts for 2,521 yards and 41 TDS
4 receptions for 88 yards and 3 TDS
His stats his junior year were awfully similar to watsons stats this year. He had 4,470 yards and 42 TDS in 13 games.
