His Facebook post this morning:
Posted this somewhere else but need to share with everyone of my friends that are Clemson fans.
BASKETBALL IS NOT FOOTBALL.
Teams lose games.
This fire Brad phenomenon is limited to Clemson at a school where they are CLEARLY second fiddle. He’s the school’s all time leader in wins, brought a Sweet 16 to town, and stayed out of the newspaper for the wrong reasons. It’s crazy.
Here are some other games last night that had nothing to do with Clemson. Notice all ranked losses came away from home.
No. 1 Purdue lost at Nebraska. No. 2 Houston lost at Iowa State. No. 3 Kansas lost at UCF. No. 5 Tennessee lost at Miss State. No. 9 Oklahoma lost at TCU. No. 17 Colorado State lost at Boise. No. 21 Clemson lost at Virginia Tech.
Last year’s National Champion had 8 losses on the year.
Just a thought 💭

Brad has the most losses in school history. Brad has only one Sweet 16 appearance in 13 years. Clemson has a history of losing streaks in Jan/Feb under Brad. Clemson has lost 3 straight games by double digits in which they were favored.
See how facts, when worded differently, can paint a clearer picture?

You mean to tell me that the angry trolls on this board are angry because of 3 losses, even though they thought our record would be much worse going into the season? Color me not surprised.

Hmmm. Why’s Brad so angry if it’s an unavoidable part of the game and everyone is doing the bestest. Per Larry Williams, Brad Brownell is “angirer with his team tonight than he has been in a while”. Had choices words for players and was naming names. You feel like setting the boss man straight?

I have followed Clemson basketball closely for decades. The 3 game slide is bad enough, add in multiple players having career nights against Clemson and 3 double digit losses and it becomes a big deal. You can’t blame fans for losing hope when Brad has the record he does.

He’s the one who doesn’t know what he’s talking about, we had a three game losing streak in conference last year after a pretty good start out of conference, and then finish the season, losing three out of five. Once again, trying to blame the fans for the coach’s poor performance. This is simply trying to take the data and find micro- trends that buck the overall trend.

Try to follow. If we’re not supposed to be upset/disappointed because TO says we shouldn’t be, then BB shouldn’t be upset either. Since both are authorities on Clemson basketball relative to anyone on this board, their opinion should matter more (you explicitly stated as much regarding TO). So who had more expertise regarding this specific situation and whose opinion on how to react should matter more? Unfortunately for you, because you’re so quick to simp for Brownell, you’ve painted yourself in a corner.

It's just that reasonable people might assume the Clemson HC didnt consult Twitter before deciding to become upset with his team's sloppy play.
And those same reasonable people might assume Oglesby isnt addressing basketball coaches, he's addressing mercurial fans who go all Holy Grail "Brownell's a WITCH!" after every CU loss.
It's hard to defend the loss, for sure. But it's equally hard to deny that VT was the hot hand last night, at home, and wouldve beaten plenty of ranked teams.

I don’t like losing.
But TO is 100% correct.
And we can play better than we did last night.
Quick obvious analysis says something drastically wrong with our defense and particularly how we defend three-pointers in the last few games.

It's great to have players who are good on the offensive end, but sometimes that seems to come at a cost since this type of offensive-minded player isn't always as talented defensively. In some cases, it's an athleticism issue, while other times it's an effort issue.
I don't think this roster is capable of being our best defensive team ever, but I do think they can be better than they have been during the Miami game, the first half of the UNC game, and the first half of the Virginia Tech game. Those times I didn't feel that we played with enough effort on the defensive end.
We have to fix this ASAP. We can't expect to outscore teams every night.

I know what the problem is. Since Brad is such an all-time great legendary coach and force of nature opposing players always rise to the occasion and play better than anyone thought possible. They set career scoring records, play incredible defense, pass the ball unselfishly, and play their hearts out. All this is to impress the legendary Brad Brownell. If Brad would resign this incentive would go away and Clemson would win more games.

I want us to compete for national championships in basketball, and am willing to do what it takes to see our program get there.
I just realize that we haven't been willing to do what's necessary at Clemson to put ourselves in position to do that, and adjust my expectations accordingly.
I'm willing to make sacrifices to see us win big in basketball at Clemson, even if it means taking away some funding from football. I bet you aren't. After all, an overwhelming majority of Clemson fans aren't. Yet you continue to gripe and complain and act like we should be a top basketball program.
As I've said before, many of you want results but aren't willing to do what it takes to achieve them. How do I know? Because you think our coach is overpaid, you balk at new facilities for our basketball team, and you don't show up consistently to games. You think our coach is supposed to work magic simply because he's a Clemson coach and you want to see us win big.
It's like a fat person who is upset that they aren't thin, but isn't willing to change their diet and exercise in order to get there. Then they point out that rare person who seemingly eats whatever they want and stays thin, and uses that as an example of what's normal and what they should expect.

He's the all-team leader in losses, too.
He has a losing record in ACC play.
His teams average 7.5th place finish in 14 years.
He's playing in an expanded league, with 20 conference games and winning less than one ACC game more per year than Barnes did with 14 game seasons (i.e., 6 more games, but can only win 1 more?).
He's playing in an unbalanced league, where his teams are not likely to face the top teams in the league only once per year, which is a good thing, because his teams seldom beat a higher ranked team...they lose more games to the bottom of the league, though.

He's been very objective about our program. A couple of years ago, he said he didn't think we were an NCAA Tournament team.
But I realize that is thoughts don't align with what you want to believe, so you criticize him.

3 losses in a row is concerning, and so is the trajectory of the program in general. We were supposed to get this bump after the Littlejohn renovations/ facilities upgrades and that never came. In an era when the ACC had one and dones and guys going to the NBA there was going to be a payoff when our guys were juniors and seniors and played as a unit and that has never materialized. The early build up for going 10-0 or 14-1 before ACC play and then ending the year within a game or two of .500 in conference has played out over and over and over again.
Even last years in conference performance which was better, getting dominated by 20 points in the ACC tournament and getting left out of the NCAAs just goes to show there is zero respect for Brad's program in basketball circles.
Brad's got to know that in 2024 going deep in the ACC tourney, getting an NCAA bid are the minimum expectations. Anything less and the experiment is over, thank you for your service, we're done here. It's time to move on.

Since the renovations, we have had one of our best seasons in program history, had another season where we beat the most NCAA Tournament teams in one season, and have seen our average wins and average ACC finish increase compared to pre-renovation.
We've also seen our recruiting improve.
I don't understand how anyone who is paying attention can't see the improvement in the program.
Now, if the issue is that you want to see MORE improvement than we've had, that's fine. I get that. But to portray our program as being stagnant isn't accurate.

Last week judge posted we would be a 3 seed according to an article in the Atlantic to validate how amazing our season is and is going to be. What he meant was brad is coaching and to expect 3 losses shortly. Slight miscommunication. If we only had the resources Clemson soccer had and utilized the portal brad would have us dancing over the morehead states of the world. Oh wait…
