Hard to say. Kinard, Jeff Davis, William Perry are all up

there. I once saw Perry block a punt against Duke...with the back of the snapper's head. He actually picked the snapper up and tossed him into the punter.
My favorite however is the late, great Chester McGlockton.

Talent wise: Chester McGlockton Career production: Either Kinard or Anthony Simmons.
Anthony Simmons had three monster seasons before going to the NFL. Ridiculous numbers. His tackle totals would never be touched if he had played his senior year out healthy. He didn't have close to the supporting cast that Jeff Davis, Kinard, the Perrys, Chester, etc had either.
A player from the 81 team I asked this question to (in terms of best player on that team) answers Kinard, which holds a lot of weight for me.

The fastest 300+ pound man to ever put on a football helmet. A man that big who could dunk a basketball. There is a highlight somewhere of him running down a running back from behind and stripping the ball loose. He once tackled the center, guard and running back all at the same time. He had to be triple teamed to stop him. Legendary stuff.

#45 was not only the best defensive player i ever saw at Clemson, he was the best FOOTBALL PLAYER i've ever seen at Clemson....and absolutely the best leader too. Terry Kinard, Anthony Simmons, Michael Dean Perry, Jeff Bryant and Jim Stuckey would make up the next group, after that there is a gap before you'd get to any others.
