I personally never thought anything bad about Chad. He earned his pay check the previous seasons this year. If you look at the offense during games that Deshaun played we looked really, really good. I felt throughout the season we were held at a disadvantage due to all the injuries that we suffered. A 9-3 regular season is a successful year to me after losing so much on offense from last year.

Him moving to SMU is a questionable move in my opinion. $700,000 extra $$$ a year is good money for most people, but I feel like he could also be risking a lot of potential money too with his move. Why? Because he has the tools in place at clemson next year to have one of the most prolific offenses in the land. He could really turn it up next year and prove as to why he is one of the best offensive minds/coaches in the college game. He could either be really successful at SMU or he could flop. He doesn't really have much on hand to work with year 1 at SMU but he could recruit well and build to his system. I don't see him landing the recruits he wants to SMU. Why would anyone want to go to SMU over schools that are successful in the Texas area like Texas A&M, Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, Oklahoma, etc. I mean sure he could land some recruits over them but not the best.

If he is successful at SMU (and I hope he is) I see him leaving the program and going to bigger and better things. If he isn't successful I see him going back to a coordinator position at a top tier program.

As for our OC position, the pay depends on who it is really. I wouldn't fork out Morris's salary to anyone right away.

ClemsonTiger; We shall see just how much was Chad and how much was the wealth of talent at Clemson since he came here. He had a nice 3-4 year run but this year his play calling was less than stellar AND it took one great defensive unit to win some of the mid season games against teams of lesser talent. Don't be so #### quick to think he's going to be a huge success at SMU. The Tiger program in its entirety had a lot to do with his success and yes he was certainly a major contributor but if you don't think our offense became known and predictable (barring the Coot game)you're sadly mistaken.
I wish him success and thank him for his time at Tigerland but I am still not sure he was worth what he was paid.
