Their coach said before the usuc game he was not in favor of the game and did not want to play usuc. He obviously does like to sacrifice his team for money.

Get a halfway decent team to come to DV. Probably not but there is a chance.

CU and SCAR decided to play the instate schools instead

of schools like Western Carolina, App state, Chattanooga to keep the money in state. Shame on Coastal for canceling at the last minute and biting the hands who are trying to help them. From now on CU and SCAR should rotate Furman and SC State the week before Clemson/Carolina.

Why? You got to practice for their offense the week before

you play SCAR. Didn't Spurrier say he wasn't playing Wofford anymore. I don't see them on their future schedules.

You make a good point. Playing a team like wofford is almost wasting a week of practice. Definitely wouldn't want to play them before the rivalry game. I like watching the triple option but its dangerous. It got UF embarassed this year. It would make sense to plsy them before GT but that's about it.

to $400,000.00 by scheduling Elon or unc-W or Savannah St instead---they all play in 80,000 seat stadiums.

game this year and how they got beat up..yada...yada. Probably figured that if the dirtpeckers hung 70 on them we'd hit the century mark. I agree, never schedule them again.

Coastal sat the majority of their starters after the first quarter against usuc because they started the playoffs the following week. They have advanced to the 3rd round of the playoffs after beating Montana last week they play two time defending champion at noon tomorrow on Espn

think he wants to play any FBS teams as they don't do anything for his team(same argument many fans have had for years for the FBS teams saying playing FCS teams is a waste). It does little for making either team better when the talent gap is so wide and the only thing you do is risk injury and they are chasing championships in their own division.
He didn't want the UCS game this year but apparently couldn't get out of it or decided to see how it went and it confirmed his suspicions.

play a FBS school. It is simply a money boost for the FCS schools that want it.
Coastal has decided they don't need the money and I don't blame them for not wanting to get their players beat up right before their playoffs start.

fault their coach one bit. It's not like our SOS is going to suffer any by having to replace them on our schedule next year. As Coastal's alumni base grows and as more emphasis is being put on expanding their athletics department, they shouldn't have to rely on these colossal mismatches simply to pad their athletic budget.
