They deserve all the credit in the world. They are the top “dawg” for sure and deserve the accolades.
However, I remember flipping over to CBS on a Saturday in fall 2019 to check in on SEC game. I remember Verne saying when the Clemson score rolled across the scream, “Clemson had no trouble today with Georgia Tech”.
Then Gary responded, “I don’t think Clemson would have trouble with most of the AFC east”. That was the year after we dominated Bama, DJ had committed along with a strong class and it looked like the dynasty would go on forever.
Point is, fortunes can change with a few misses in recruiting, coaches leaving, and bad luck. Let’s wait a couple more years before we crown them the new Bama

We need to improve with playmakers. If we went after Georgia’s OC a championship for CU would come sooner than later. Georgia had never been so dynamic until they hired Monken as coordinator. They better pay him BIG or he’s gone. That would be the best hope for the demise of Georgia. ??

We’ve got the money. BV used to be at the top of that list.

We are not going to spend big $ on assistant coaches who are at risk of being incompatible with Dabo’s philosophy, or who is a job jumper.
On the other hand, if you are going to increase your IPTAY contributions to $2mm per year, then you can do so with the stipulation that your donation is to be spent on assistant coaches.
If you’re not willing to do this, then you are just another loud mouth who is generous with other peoples’ money.

You are dead wrong! The worm turned when GA hired Kirby Smart and gave him full reign over every aspect of the football program. Monken is already the Highest paid asst coach and is about to get another raise. Monken is in total control of the offense and quarterbacks. He's also very comfortable with his present situation as OC/Asst HC and really has no aspirations of becoming a HC at his age. The road to the natty runs through Athens Ga from this point going forward. UGA isn't some flash in the pan program that can't sustain success. Kirby's awaken that sleeping giant everyone was always afraid of. I've always told you Clemson Idol.....you'll never be GA.

We weren’t going to pay $2mm for a coordinator who may not have fit Clemson’s culture.
Maybe so and maybe not, but maybe Monken is one of those assistants who clamors for high priced portal players. maybe his philosophy is to spend NIL money on players who had not proven that they fit in with a program. In other words, maybe his ‘brilliance’ as a O-coordinator depends upon a program being willing to be profligate spenders of NIL money, and needs to coach at a super-rich program to be successful.
And maybe not.
The punchline is that none of us know what Monken’s expectations are as far as his employer’s willingness to waste NIL money on some players who turn out to be duds … and keep spending NIL money until the good players arrive on campus.
Again, we don’t know.
We do know that Streeter is compatible with Dabo’s philosophy, and we have reason to be confident that Streeter’s learning curve will be steep … with big jump in both pre-game planning and in-game adjustment ability. This confidence in 2nd year improvement for FB coaches is the same as with other knowledge-centric professions … biggest progress occurs from year 1 to year 2.
Enjoy the 2023 season as CK2 gets his QB mojo going.
