Vandy not working out for Chad

Jan 17, 2014, 11:15 AM

is the best thing that could have happened to him. Vandy is a fools errand. Worst facilities, fanbase and tradition along with the highest academic standards in the SEC. Mason has a huge mountain of expectations in front of him with what Franklin accomplished there. Besides, if Chad succeeds with the new personel he'll have to incorporate here next season, he'll have proven himnself even more. A job like SMU which would really suit him could be open next year, not to mention places like UF, Miss St, WVU, and others that will come with coaching movement. Glad to have him back, he's a quality coach, and do hope he lands a HC job soon. He succeeds this year, he'll get it

If this report from 24/7 is correct.. "IF" then I agree with

you stripe. This is what I've been saying. Franklin knew he had to get out of there while he could because if he thought he could win there consistently he would still be there. Penn State is a good job but there is a LOT of work to be done there and it won't be easy. Golden chose to stay at Miami even though he is a PSU alum after all.

Actually he is from Pennsylvania and been a fan of Penn st all his life.

Imagine Clemson having issues then you are a HC and get the chance to come save it after the first guy took the brunt of it for 3 years.

Good opportunity for home town boy to go home to childhood hero type job

Doesn't change the fact that Vandy is tough place to win but he has a few recruiting classes in place and some good players on the team obviously see ranking and record

Still Vandy so I think we are all in agreement tough place to win

Well said. You are one of the only intelligent people left.

Think he'd probably be more interested in a B12 job

Heck, Nebraska may even be open after next year (yeah, I know they're not in the B12 anymore).
