1. Cliff Ellis--only coach to lead Clemson to a regular season title...led the Tigers to the Sweet Sixteen and two other NCAA appearances.

2. Rick Barnes--Led the Tigers to 3 NCAA appearances in 4 years on the job. Recorded a sweet sixteen appearance in his third year on the job. Also the only coach in Clemson history to lead the team to a post season birth every year on the job. (1 NIT and 3 NCAA)

3. Oliver Purnell--Led the Tigers to their only ACC Tournament title game appearance since 1962, went to post season play 6 out of 7 years on the job, led the Tigers to 3 straight NCAA tournaments.

4. Bill Foster--led the Tigers to post season play in 4 of 9 seasons. Only Clemson coach to lead a team to the Elite Eight. Lost to UCLA who eventually forfeited the wins due to NCAA sanctions.

5. For #5 you've got me....I've looked at the list and Press along with Tates both had overall losing records.

How about Tates Locke? Skip Wise was 1st team acc as a freshman ( 20.+/gm ). Phil Ford did not make it!!

Tates is probably #5...had an overall losing record of 62-70

and got run out of town with NCAA violations but had a great class recruiting wise with Skip and Tree and others.
