we looked overmatched. I'm hoping it was just an off day against a hot pitcher

Why didn’t Cagle start. Best vs best? In baseball there are many intangibles and uncertainties. This one seemed certain to me in advance. If they’re the better team so be it. But if it was poor pitcher voice it’s on the man. Sad for the loss.

we did hit good pitching and left two handfuls stranded. We didn't have our best pitcher on the mound against their best pitched. Why?

Half our hits didn’t leave the infield.

When exactly do these students go to class and how the hail do they all graduate in 3 years with 4.0's? I'm missing something.

What I’ve been saying for years. I’m supposed to believe that DW played football at that level and graduated in 3 years with superb GPA?
Every kid you talk to these days has a 3.5. Man our country has become so smart.

As for the time - the athletes go to school year round

many football players start a semester early. Not hard to figure how they graduate early. The GPA that’s a different story

who make sure they go to class and turn stuff in. Their hands are held through the whole process.
This right here. - Some athletes have easy majors (Like Communications). - Some athletes are wicked smart. - They also have access to the best tutors/school resources that may not be well known to the average student (or cost extra). - Some professors may be partial to make sure they are not overloaded with homework/projects to make things a little easier to turn in on time (of course, some definitely won't LOL and when that happens those athletes ain't hittin' the 4.0 that semester if they're not committed).

were added for this in the last decade or so as athletic departments made more money. That's why players being academically ineligible is pretty much unheard of now

Another reason I don't understand all the issue

with players not getting paid since they help bring big bucks to the universities. Players on full scholarship are getting the opportunity for a paid education worth at least $50K a year.
And they get a lot of academic assistance not available to a regular student that is probably worth another $10k to $20k. So that's like getting paid $60k for an entry level job. I'm just conservatively guessing at the numbers here.
And now they can switch schools without sitting out a season after the first school has invested a lot of time and money in them.

Missouri is a pretty decent team. Our non-conference schedule is pretty brutal so everyone needs to realize we probably will drop a few games - we’re not Oklahoma. We couldn’t get a key hit today. Got lead off on 6 out of seven innings and only scored one run. I’m not sure why Cagle didn’t start unless they are pacing themselves for a 50 plus game season. Got some tough games coming up in Mexico. Gonna be a fun but tough schedule.

We'll know a lot after Mexico tournament. We'll know more in the coming weeks if mizzou is going to be good. Certainly every team will drop games. Look at Charlotte beating fsu. But it was like an 8-7 game. Yes, we got the leadoff on. But we were gifted 4 walks too and struck out 6 times.
Yes, I was hoping we would be like an Oklahoma, fsu and Tennessee. Otherwords, earn our top 5 rank and not just because we have Cagle. My concern as the last 2 years, hitting is poor. Less the opening high school scrimmage, our hitting was poor.
