Or park at CNN Center / the gulch or any of the official MBS parking lots and you'll be fine.

Thieves have gotten so good, and with the updated tools to get in and kill your car alarm before entering it, they can get into your vehicle with cops walking everywhere in the general area, and they would never know your vehicle has been broken into. If they want what you leave in your vehicle, they will get it. A drone hovering about 50 ft above it with top of the line video may help some, but they will already be gone before you could get there, just give the cops the video, and hopefully they will recognize who they are!!!
At home, me or the wife use to never lock our vehicles hoping it would save a window, but with my wife's Honda CRV, it locks the door when she starts walking away from it. But we leave nothing in them, and hopefully the crooks will look inside before doing any damage. We have like a kids lunch box the we carry back and forth to the car that we use like the registration, insurance papers, Radar detector, and my wife uses a Garmin GPS, but I just use waze on cell phone. But leave nothing in the car with the glove box open, and you probably won't get broken into, unless they want the entire vehicle, but that's why we insure them, right!!!

How is this practice legal? All bills I have ever have, have THIS printed on them: "THIS NOTE IS TENDER LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS PUBLIC AND PRIVATE".
Seems illegal, foolish, and it makes whatever you buy cost more, due to financial processing fees.

Make lines shorter at concession stands; absolutely. The federal reserve’s FOMC has been manipulating our money supply for a hundred years; It’s their job. For the most part we are much better off as a result of their actions. Whether you buy your Twizzlers with Samsung Pay or a fistful of nickels it’s gonna have zero impact on how they manage our currency.

A programmable central bank digital currency gives the central authority the right to control and record every single transaction. Like they can turn off a person's ability to make any transactions. Do you understand? That has not been possible before. If all forms of decentralized transactions are replaced with a centralized, programmable digital currency, then you can be shut off from paying your mortgage or taxes.
Like the US does to other countries with the SWIFT system.
Do you understand? That's nothing like the already bad things that have gone on already. It's an entirely new level. You have to have some instinct of self-preservation in there somewhere.

Fine I’ll bite, do you pay your mortgage in cash?
Sep 2, 2022, 3:44 PM
|
|
Do you roll up to the teller ask for a couple K and then mosey on over to whomever holds your note and count out the bills into their sweaty little hands. How bout groceries, gas, water, power, lucky strikes, PBR…you paying cash for everything? Probably not and that’s the point. The MB stadium isn’t trying to force you use a CBDC to pay for your Diet Coke, they just don’t want you to use cash. Apple Pay, google pay, Samsung pay, PayPal, Venmo,…none of em are CBDCs they’re just simply other ways to access the cold hard cash that you have stored in your account over at the credit union. Tapping my phone on an NFC terminal is exactly the same as swiping my credit card or initiating a wire transfer from my bank to WF home mortgages; It’s just simply a means to move cash from my account to that of the merchant.
I’m not inclined to engage in a discussion regarding your world finance beliefs; it’s not germane to this article and wholly misplaced. If you really think cashless and CBDC are the same, then you clearly don’t understand what either are.
P.S. you prolly wanna do more research about SWIFT, it doesn’t have anything to do with CBDCs either.

Having a central authority oversee my currency just isn't something I'm comfortable with. I'd rather handle my direct deposits and bank/ATM cash withdrawals using my own infrastructure that's not regulated by the gubmint, thank you very much.

Question: Are you comfortable if a central authority has the technical ability to remotely turn off your ability to make any legal transaction?
You may have faith in humanity that could never happen, but the POINT, that you peckerheads are missing, is that has not been literally possible up until now. Just like destroying a city with one bomb wasn't possible before nukes. We are simply talking about a new ability that could be easily abused.
And there are those in power who have already expressed a desire to regulate the ability to transact based on their political values, like carbon credits or anything they consider "illicit."
You guys can't be so easy to cram in a cage. Have some pride.

They essentially have that authority today, unless you keep your cash under the mattress. They can just as easily freeze your cash account assets as they can freeze your digital payment options.
Also, there are several anonmyous digital options, including pay-as-you-go debit cards that you can get from any grocery store or convenience mart. Load them with cash, you don't have to register them with any sort of identifying information.

I never carry cash, if I get robbed, they are risking a lot of jail time without getting a cent, and I will inform them of that as soon as I know they got the drop on me, and I'm being robbed. And if they agree to walk away, maybe neither of us will be harmed. They are going to do what ever the moment they decided to rob you, but if you have nothing, hopefully they will take my advise and walk away, and I get home without harm, that's what I hope for anyway. But if not, they better don't turn their back, or take their eyes off me for a second bc if they do, something really bad is about to happen!!!

The government would be able to "turn off" a person's ability to buy certain things, or at certain times, or at certain places.
Carbon credits, calories, alcohol, dissenting views, literally anything the central entity wanted. The level of totalitarianism possible with a programmable digital currency has never existed before. People are walking themselves off a cliff supporting this for silly practical reasons. Extreme naïveté.

That is the total reason for a cashless system, big brother wants total control of every citizen, and everybody that crosses into the country. What better way to get that, than with a cashless system, and they will have every name and address to knock your doors down, and come in and take every weapon they can find, and if they have broken down your doors, and find you with a firearm afterwards, you will go to jail for a very long time, and it will get that way not so far in the future!!!

Covid was a catalyst to move in this direction faster, but it's also more efficient for the buyer and the seller. It provides more purchase protection. It is safer than cash...there are tons of good reasons.

Faster, cheaper, quicker access to the funds
Sep 2, 2022, 4:45 PM
[ in reply to Cashless transactions.... ] |

Someone has to handle all of that cash, and not just the cashier. Someone has to count down all of the registers and then rebuild em for the next shift, prepare the deposit, and then either physically bring it to the bank or have a service collect it. Then you also have to maintain a safe with back up tills, change orders, safety cash reserves….It’s just a huge hassle to deal in cash. Once you receive the cash from the customer it takes days for all of the cash to cycle through and actually be reflected on you business accounts which limits your ability to use your free cash.

When I worked in Shell’s banking department a million years ago we pushed our service stations to accept cards (this was before they were so prevalent) for that very reason. Handling cash was the biggest expense we had in banking. Banks charge major bucks to handle cash. That’s why so many stores offer cash back - less cash to handle and pay banks to manage.
