Considering all the injuries, just stay healthy. Don't care who wins/loses. Fall practice more important, IMHO.

Pocket Presence/OL against a Very Stout DL

The OL sets the tone of your football team; no matter what level of football.
This is true!
If our DL is as good as we think them to be and possibly in the running for "best in the nation"! We should see an improved OL just by virtue of going against the DL daily. I even like our 2nd string guys on DL(we are still deep on the DL).
DJU and CB2 are "not panicking" and moving their feet: "type-writer-feet" similar to some famous Peyton Manning videos over "flat-footed stare the receiver down" type awareness is what I'm looking forward to seeing from both(CB2 is a freshman will the moment be too much).
I like this year's team as much as any, but there is little to no pressure on this team! They can go out and play like their hair is on fire. NC State is the pre-season favorite. They have a bunch of starters coming back and Clemson just had a "disappointing 10 win season"! No pressure on Clemson. So, I'm looking forward to seeing how focused this group is. Past teams sometimes were wound a bit "too tight" I thought about what the ultimate goal was. This team has Sophomores and Freshmen who don't know Championships at Clemson. Lots of intangible things I guess I'm saying; that I am looking forward to getting a "glimpse of"! Not likely to get a great picture, but perhaps at moments get a "glimpse" of the focus areas mentioned.

2018 Spring Game Memories

Trevor Lawrence dominated incl. 2 bombs for TD's. Dabo called one back. But it was clear TL16 was the best QB on the field and it wasn't close. It took several games, and a go-ahead from player leaders especially CW42, and TL16 was the starter. Many Tigers and Tnetters felt starting a true freshman was a mistake. But in the end, Dabo Swinney demonstrated he knew how to calibrate the team, and the net result was an undefeated season and a big win vs. Bama to win the national championship.
I am projecting a similar scenario this Saturday with CK2 outplaying DJ5. Where it goes from there is up to Dabo and the coaches.
Buy the hype. The Defense is ready. The Offense will be interesting to watch ... and I'll be pulling for all Tigers to stay healthy, play hard and enjoy themselves on Saturday.

I suppose we'll never know

No doubt on Trevor, albeit I suppose we'll never know what this team's ceiling may have been with Kelly Bryant had he not left; he might have become a Clemson legend the very week he left & could have saved us from a near loss at home against Syracuse. Instead, now we celebrate another transfer, Chase Brice. Still, we'll always be thankful for the title Trevor brought to town.
I disagree with Cade outplaying DJU for the job, though. Even if he's more technically brilliant, DJU still has an exceptionally high ceiling, vastly more experience, & frankly the adversity he's dealt with (notably from his own fanbase) clearly has had an effect on his mental game & leadership.
Between his natural talent, experience, & the favorability of the first 4 games, I sincerely think DJU will be the starter & will "wow" many fans again.
Still, can't wait to see Cade & what he's capable of on Saturday. I'm with you; believe the hype of this 2022 team.

Can't wait to be in the Valley with a "game day" atmosphere this Saturday. With "live bullets". Hopefully the team stays healthy and comes out of the day with some confidence and hunger.

What hype? We have so many players hurt that it will not even be worth watching.

I disagree.
We have players hurt every year, last year more than most, & I'm still absolutely compelled to watch the Tigers.
I suppose it's personal, but I can't wait.

Unfortunately it looks like we're already getting bitten by the injury bug far too often again this year. Perhaps it's time to take a close look at our strength and conditioning program. We used to be so strong and physical that our opponents were the ones taking injured players off the field. What has changed??

The going philosophy around that question is: "nothing is wrong with our Strength, Speed, and Conditioning program"! In fact, most will go on to say, "Clemson is recognized for having one of the best"! I know that was the case at one point. Not sure if it is now? I won't really bring it up much because (pardon the pun) it's a sore subject it seems. But, to your point, you hear about this type of thing often in all types of sports when a team has a rash of injuries. One would really have to believe in "Bad Luck" deeply in order to just go; "nothing to see here"! I am not qualified to tell you what or why; so I won't offer anything more than. I understand your question as I had the same one. Seems odd to put that number of injuries on one team totally on "Bad Luck"!

Buy the hype!
DJU's celling is high & still rising, the tempo has deliberately increased, & the defense has been showing their hunger in spite of their youth, plus Cade, plus Spector, etc.
If y'all can't find hype in 83,000 fans of the same team showing up in Death Valley for a free football event, yikes!
Go Tigers!

Go back and watch the 2 games that DJ played in 2020, you'll be surprised how 'meh' he really was. He made some good throws, but also made some bad ones, and was also bailed out by our stellar skill players.
Everyone talking about how AMAZING he was in 2020 are the same ones that think Michael Jordan never missed a game-winning shot. Perception vs reality

A clue.

DJ didn't know where his secondary receiver was after seeing his primary covered when the offense was slow. If the offense snaps the ball early in the play clock DJ will be more bumbling. Losing weight has nothing to do with being able to concentrate and think quicker.
Streeter knows this better than any of us and thereby we have a clue.

The OL room gets cut in half forcing players of various experience levels to play together that he no real reps together.
OL is thin and then add the.bifurcation = guaranteed challenges.
I'm looking for one pass play with the QB under center not on the goal line. Jusst one. That would be exciting to ne.

All of this is a mute point....Spring practice...Injuries...spring game...All of this is meaningless if we cannnot block on the OL come fall...and by all accounts from this previous off season and recruiting...we should expect much of the same as last year.

I am excited to see the up-tempo offense in action again.
I would be interested in hearing the justification as to why we moved away from it after successfully hanging our hat on that style for years. I'm sure sandbagging in play-calling or slowing it down for young players would be the two most common answers.
Anyways, if we can comfortably go up-tempo all season, and dump the bubble-screens behind the LOS, I think Streeter will show quick improvement and confidence for the fans.
Nice article Ryan.

With all of the expectations....Bull. Dabo uses the Spring game to entertain the fans. I think I counted 12 plays...6 to the right and 6 to the left. We will see the real team play Georgia Tech. Until then, only Dabo knows the realistic expectations ...but right now ..we can only guess. I am sure Georgia Tech was amused at what they saw...and leaned very little.
