need some help if possible

Will have Lasik eye surgery Saturday morning in Greenville, and will be staying in a hotel due to having post op stuff early Sunday. What I need help with is, I need to find a way I can watch the game, the hotels I have called do not have ESPNU, and not sure how my eyes will be, to be in a bar/restaurant just a few hours after the surgery. Thanks in advance for any help!

Is ESPN3 still like what it was a few year's back, ive only used it like once and thought they had done away with it since, @BigCUFan I figured it would be that way, but will I be able to see clearly enough within a few hours afterwards to watch tv?

You're not going to feel like watching TV.

The doctor is going to give you drugs, tell you to go take them, go to sleep, and rest your eyes.

I has lasik eye surgery several years ago....

Patients are told to rest and are given dark eyeglasses to protect their eyes from bright lights and occasionally protective goggles to prevent rubbing of the eyes while sleeping.
The "flap" they are going to create on your corneas needs time to heal sufficiently. On that basis, I would recommend that you simply listen to the game via local radio while you are resting your eyes.

improved some, but I doubt it. You are gonna feel like you have sand in your eyes for the first day, but after that, it will be more tolerable. Last thing you will need would be a smokey sports bar. Go "Old School" and listen on the radio.

Reschedule
Sep 23, 2013, 10:20 AM
|
|
The right thing to do is to reschedule until after football season. I assume that this isn't required surgery, so wear your glasses for a few more months. If it is an insurance issue that you want to get done this year, reschedule for the week plus that we have off between UVA and GT.

Work schedule was the deciding factor in the scheduling of it, I have season tickets and have gotten rid of them to some family members, hate missing it, but im just stay with the scheduled date, plus im applying for a job with highway patrol, so the sooner the better

with 4 off weekends this season, your scheduling is suspect

but I wouldn't sweat not watching this game.
Listen to it Saturday, DVR it to watch on Monday or Tuesday when your eyes are feeling stronger. After all, what would be a better thing to watch with your "new" 20/20 eyesight?

who schedule weddings, reunions, shopping trips, and doctors appointments on game weekends.
Men are the ones who have the foresight to get out of them so they can not only watch the game, but attend the game.

I don't believe ESPNU games are shown on WatchESPN

(formerly ESPN3). There will be average quality streams out there on sites such as "First Row Sports" though.

The bar/restaurant option is probably your best bet if you are feeling up to it.

WatchESPN shows ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNdeportes, and ESPN3 content. You get access to only the content that your ISP/TV service has access to. In other words, my TV plan includes ESPNU, and my TV is through the same company as my ISP (Uverse) and as such while on my home internet (or while travelling and logged in using my ISP account) I have access to ESPNU streams.

it depends on if Dish provides your internet service or not

The internet service provider is what determines if you can get it or not. However, you may check with the hotel and see if their ISP is online with WatchESPN. It sucks that it is so complicated.
