Really like that louisville wants to ein. Didnt see much of the downside for taking him. If he works out great we would have had a major upgrade at rb if not tell him to leave.

His previous delinquent conduct notwithstanding, Dyer seem to have finally come to the realization that his future as a player in the NFL not to mention millions of dollars are on the line. I really don't think he is going to do anything to jeopardize that.

Dyer was likely Louisville bound.
While I have never made a dime coaching college football, if I were the coach, I think I would have rolled the dice and taken a chance on this kid too.
Had it worked out, you enjoy the benefits of having a quality RB in you offense. If not, you send him packing.
He's really only going to be in school for one semester anyway. After the season, he will likely declare himself eligible for the NFL draft and leave school to start preparing and conditioning.

The guy's gun was used in an armed robbery, and only a few months later - after being kicked out of school - he's found to be carrying another gun during a traffic stop.
I'd take Mike Bellamy back before I'd take a chance on Dyer. If nothing else, it would make Dabo look like a hyprocrite after he's done so much to promote character on the team.

I'm also glad he found a home though, and I hope he does well there. I've just never been one for gambling on guys with bad histories of off-field issues, and I don't think Clemson as a whole is either. Wish the best for him; hope he does well.

There is definitely two different schools of thought on this

and you could make a fairly compelling argument to support either position.

Question For the Future?
Aug 2, 2013, 9:54 AM

Will Louisville be required to raise their academic standards for recruits to be on line with the other ACC schools?

Yes, but....

since the ACC's academic requirements will be quite a departure for Louisville (many of their playrs are partial qualifiers or JuCo transfers), I am guessing the league will extend a grace period to be fully compliant.

It will take a decade and a great toll on the school.

I hope the ACC schools will be supportive of UL's efforts and be at their disposal.
I'm disappointed at UL for taking a chance on this one. It appears they are headed the other way but with the problems at UNCheat and UM it seems the ACC has a damaged credibility already. You can't uncheat.

A bit surprised Strong would roll the dice on this kid. Charlie Strong seems like a high character guy from everything I've read.
Maybe Dyer has in fact changed, but some of the charges against him were pretty severe. It wasn't like he just had an MIP or possession of weed charge.
