This line is the difference between USC and those cases:

"When determining the penalties, the committee noted the university’s cooperation in the investigation, which went beyond standard expectations, and the university’s self-imposed penalties."

$CU's self-imposed penalties were a complete joke....

even the most die hard $CU fans acknowledge that. Pretty light punishment IMO given the repeat offender status.

Our actual offenses were pretty light. Hotel rooms at apartment rates and the SAm foundation which only got two players out of dozens to even visit USC. The repeat offender thing was a concern though. If you remove that aspect the punishment fits the crime.

Should serve as a reminder to any school that gets violations. Co-operate with the NCAA, don't be like GT or Ohio State and cover it up.

$51,000 in impermissible benefits is significant.

For 12 players, that works out to be $4250.00 per player! That's a lot to pay players -- probably more than U of Miami paid.

It may even be more than UNC paid to Coples.

Of course, someone in the USuC Athletic Dept knew the players were being paid by the hotel...

I think for the actions they took, suspending players immediately, and their self imposed penalities, it seems right.

Least theirs wasn't 200+ pages long like ours!
