The key to Saturday's game is not how many yards Gurley

Aug 25, 2014, 11:15 AM

gets, but rather how he gets them...

If UGA is able to hold the ball, and Gurley is getting 4-5 a pop, it will be a long night.

He's gonna get yards, b/c he's probably the best back in the country. The hope is that he get the majority of them on a couple of long runs. If they keep the ball away from us......

not good

"I've been working since I was 15 continually until now. I worked 40 hours a week at 15, when it wasn't even legal for 15 year olds to work that many hours."

I hope this doesn't sound contentious.

When our LBs over shoot a gap or just plain out miss an assignment Gurley will get loose for long runs. Tig and Spence are gone so I wonder who'll step up and screw up this year?

My hope is that we shut him down completely. I'm sticking with that!

I think we need to hit Mason early and get a good lead so

uga will have to throw. Then it's a field day for Clemson and uga's defense will wear down. Not wishing my life away but hurry up Saturday!!!!

I agree and I think that will be the mindset. Get Gurley and co. going and use long methodical scoring drives to keep CU off the field. Not only will that ensure we are moving the ball and controlling the clock but it also limits the pressure put on Mason.

The key IMO is how Stoudt plays - if he can control the.....

ball and move it through the air then we've got a chance. If he's overwhelmed by the pressure, etc. in his first start and throws poorly and turns it over then we're in for a long night.

How does your team plan on dealing with Secret Plan F?

Plan "F" has Todd Gurley returning kickoffs at least that's in the rumor mill and MB didn't deny it when asked about "secret plan F."

Todd Gurley holds a multiple strike capability in this match.

We got a guy that can boom kickoffs

Aug 25, 2014, 11:44 AM

so here's hoping none are returnable for you.

So, Vince mc mahon is your secret plan coordinator????

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That would be stupid on Richt's part

Aug 25, 2014, 1:06 PM [ in reply to Re: The key to Saturday's game is not how many yards Gurley ]

Thats a completely different type of running. He would be going full speed, head on to 11 guys that are also going full speed head on. Thats a recipe for injury on him. WRs are more used to that. He's used to running over 1 person and then having folks chase him and outrunning them.

Gurley isn't a possession RB

Aug 25, 2014, 1:04 PM

he's the 7-10+/play RB. He isn't going to go ball control when he can bust big plays. Thats the misconception about UGA's running game. They get yards in bunches and not long sustained drives.

He will get his yards.
