in that same tie period. It's not like we never win a game vs SEC teams. South Carolina vs the ACC in that time is 6-8.

Actually, Clemson was 9-11 vs. the SEC from 2002-2012, not counting the undecided game vs. LSU, of course, or any games against teams that have joined the SEC recently, like Texas A&M. Here are the matchups and final scores, along with a running overall record for Clemson. The W/L will reflect Clemson's result in each game.
2002 Clemson @ #4 Georgia L 31-28 (0-1) S. Carolina @ Clemson W 27-20 (1-1)
2003 #11 Georgia @ Clemson L 30-0 (1-2) Clemson @ S. Carolina W 63-17 (2-2)
2004 S. Carolina @ Clemson W 29-7 (3-2)
2005 Clemson @ S. Carolina W 13-9 (4-2)
2006 S. Carolina @ Clemson L 31-28 (4-3) Clemson vs. Kentucky L 28-20 (4-4)
2007 Clemson @ S. Carolina W 23-21 (5-4) Clemson vs. Auburn L 23-20 (5-5)
2008 #24 Alabama @ Clemson L 34-10 (5-6) S. Carolina @ Clemson W 31-14 (6-6)
2009 #18 Clemson @ S. Carolina L 34-17 (6-7) Clemson vs. Kentucky W 21-13 (7-7)
2010 Clemson @ #16 Auburn L 27-24 (7-8) #18 S. Carolina @ Clemson L 29-7 (7-9)
2011 #21 Auburn @ Clemson W 38-24 (8-9) #17 Clemson @ #12 S. Carolina L 34-13 (8-10)
2012 #14 Clemson vs. Auburn W 26-19 (9-10) #12 S. Carolina @ #11 Clemson L 27-17 (9-11)
Here is what I take away from this:
Clemson has played 20 games against the SEC in 13 years. They have played a top level opponent nearly every time, going against the best the SEC has to offer. A 9-11 record is not bad, but it also shows that Clemson has some work to do if it is going to compare itself to the teams of the SEC. That being said, Clemson has a perfect opportunity to get a good win against an elite SEC team Monday night against #8 LSU in the Chic-Fil-A bowl.
If you would have asked me what Clemson's record vs. the SEC was since 2002 I would have most likely been much lower than 9-11.
GO TIGERS... CLEMSON TIGERS!!!

And South Carolina being 6-8 against the ACC is also VERY misleading.
I am counting that 7 of the 8 are against Clemson but winning the last 4 changes the impact drastically.
SC beat NC in their last meeting and will be huge favorites to open 2013 SC swept NC State SC split with Virginia way back in 2003 and 04.
Those are the only SC games against other ACC teams since 2000.
I count 4-1 against the ACC since 2000 and 6-6 over the past 12 against Clemson.

South Carolina, Georgia and the rest are guaranteed 10 SEC wis in that period by playing Vanderbilt alone. And, as you say we have plaed their top teams in bowls and kickoff games etc.

How are these teams the best the SEC had to offer. You have the rankings out beside the opponent. Clearly mid to lower level SEC competition.

The ratings include a Georgia team that was one of the best in the nation in the early 2000s, an Auburn team that won a NC, a South Carolina team that has been in the national title talks for the past 3 seasons, an Alabama team that has been on fire for the better part of a decade, and a few bowl games as well.
Now, if that isn't a quality schedule I'm not sure what is. You obviously can't knock any of the games against Georgia or Alabama, or the 2010 game against Auburn, or the last few against South Carolina. As for the bowl games, every SEC team that Clemson has played in a bowl since 2002 has been a quality opponent, any statement to the contrary would unravel the basis for the argument that the SEC is the best conference from top to bottom.
So you choose. Either you can accept the fact that Clemson has played a decent SEC schedule since 2002, or you can admit that you are a coot lover and throw the rest of the SEC under the bus.

And Clemson over the last 20 years against other SEC teams than USC.
9/17/2011 vs. Auburn (8-5) W 9/18/2010 @ Auburn (14-0) L 12/27/2009 vs. Kentucky (7-6) W 8/30/2008 vs. Alabama (12-2) L 12/31/2007 vs. Auburn (9-4) L 12/29/2006 vs. Kentucky (8-5) L 8/30/2003 vs. Georgia (11-3) L 1/2/2004 vs. Tennessee (10-3)W 8/31/2002 @ Georgia (13-1) L 12/30/1999 vs. Mississippi State (10-2) L 1/2/1998 vs. Auburn (10-3) L 12/28/1996 vs. Louisiana State (10-2) L 10/7/1995 vs. Georgia (6-6) L 10/8/1994 @ Georgia (6-4-1) L 12/31/1993 vs. Kentucky (6-6) W
I count that as 4-11 with wins over a 6 win team a 8 team win a 2 win team and 10 win team

Ok, so you are admitting that you're a coot lover and South Carolina could be in the running for the worst football program of all time?
If I'm reading into this too much let me know

I don't think SC ever claimed to have an elite history in football.
But I think most USC fans are very happy with the success of the team today, the direction of the program and the 4 game winning streak.

want, but to know that y'all had to cheat to start this run is refreshing. i have heard all this about us in the early '80's, so i know it diminishes the feeling of superiority, either you will admit it or won't. you can lie to everyone but yourself!

Well, if using an administrative error to allow a hotel to charge players a lower-than-allowed rate vs. paying for players, giving cars, etc. of the early '80s makes you feel better, go for it.

Since 2006, when the SEC began its reign of dominance with 6 straight national titles, Clemson is 5-9 against the SEC. The only wins Clemson has had was against South Carolina, Kentucky, and Auburn.
And by the way... Clemson is 9-10 against the SEC in the past 10 years... not 10-10. And half of those games are against South Carolina and several more against Auburn. It isn't exactly a diverse crop of SEC teams.

So now we can select which opponents we want to add into the tally and who we want to leave out?
Well I guess that makes sense. If a team is terrible then we should pretty much forget about ever playing them or any history we have against them. I mean, since they suck they don't matter anyway right?
Good, glad we can all forget about South Carolina then.

I'm just saying that half of those games came against one team. And that is a rivalry game, so I would expect it to be competitive regardless of which team was better that year.

Well, when we started this whole rivalry back in 1896 we expected it to be competitive as well, but I guess you guys just couldn't hold up your end of the bargain. Face it, South Carolina might be good now, but once Spurrier leaves town you will be right back to the days of less than mediocre.
Sucks to be you.
