no matter who's out there" -Kirk Herbstreit about 30 seconds before Tua threw the pick-6 to AJ.
Sounds a lot like what they are saying about Burrow.

He meant that individual pass. He was right.

We tricked him into making bad passes afterwards. You can't really defend perfect passes. You can only try and prevent them or take advantage of the other ones.

You did trick him, it was a great call..that being said..I re-watched that game...and simply put..both Tua's INTs were bad throws. Watch the replay of the pick 6, he threw the ball behind Juedy, Terrell just had to squat and it came right to him. To credit Clemson, he did have Simmons bearing down on him off the edge which likely increased the probability of an errant pass.
The second INT, he overthrew the WR by about 6 yards right into the hands of a Clemson defender.

You are being too simple.

The throw was bad due to a safety tricking Tua. Bad throws can be created by confusion and seeing things at the last second. WR's can be herded sightly off their routes or their timing.
You don't know enough about football to continue here. You can come back in 3 years and try again.

You guys from Lsu kill me. You are now watching our games from last year to make you feel good about your chances Monday night. You guys have a good team and one that is good enough to win on Monday night you do not have to come here trying to teach us about how the game of football is played. Burrows was lights out in 2019 so maybe we see the Burrows of 2018 in 2020 no one will know until Monday night.

Did you not notice Mullen leave his receiver and run back and get over the top before the ball was even thrown. Our coaches knew Tua predetermined where he is throwing the ball. The defense called made Tua think he had man coverage on Jeudy. Brent Venables did his homework and took advantage of a qb who can't read a defense while in the pocket. We will exploit Burrow's weaknesses as well. Not saying we will intercept him multiple times but he will have a lot to read and deal with as well as pressure coming from all different angles.

I just went back and looked at the box score of your game against Alabama last year. Burrow was hot garbage, I think we can probably exploit some of that on Monday night.

If you keep watching, on our next possession, you hear about how strong bama defense is on 3rd and long just prior to the 61 yard pass from Lawrence to Higgins

And don't forget early in the second quarter hearing about how gassed our defense already was. From that point on we shut them out the rest of the game.

One of the the megacasts showed the view from the QB,s perspective.
The pick-6 was NOT a bad throw by Tua. It was a masterful design by the Mad Scientist with some beautiful execution by our Tigers.
Tua was just delivering the ball when Simmons (who had been hidden during his approach) flashed into Tua's throwing lane with both arms upraised. With his arm already committed to the throw, Tua had very few options. He couldn't throw it out of bounds--his arm slot was set for 0 trajectory, because it was a sideline throw, so he couldn't get it over Simmons. He couldn't throw it away downfield of Jeudy--he's a lefty, and his follow through motion wouldn't allow it. He only had 2 options: throw it right at Simmons, which was probably safer but you never know; or "throw it away" behind Simmons to the upfield side without any pre-throw look to see if it would be safe. It was not.
If the Tigers were running any normal coverage, the ball would have been safely thrown away or possibly caught for a short gain. But Terrell dropped off his coverage into the secondary throwing lane, so he was in perfect position for the pick when Tua was blinded by Simmons.
It was not an accident, nor a random terrible throw. It was a designed pressure pick, though it relied more on perfect timing than actual pressure.
That was a combination blitz/coverage pick that is totally due to BV's genius and his relationship with his players.
He is the biggest reason I am confident about our chances Monday night.

Awesome post & the execution of this play gives me chills. BV is going to have Burrow in the palm of his hand just like he did Tua

That was a former 155-lb walk-on who saved the TD, kept his team in the game, caught 2 TD passes including the game-winner, got drafted and was one of the NFL's most productive rookies in spite of missing several games.
What a legend!
