Clearly. We didn't expect option

Offense today and weren't ready.. It's tuff to stop if not geared in. happy with the W but our D got a wake up call. Ben especially with his busted coverage.
But tigers roll to 10-0 and goal is still alive.
Go Tigers!!!

We practiced the spread all week. We didn't think they were going to go option. Just a bad guess that bit us hard.

No their normal offense is spread. That's what they did with FSU.

We didn't play spread. Typically, it is a double wing featuring H-Backs and option.

Doesn't matter what it was. We weren't prepared. Wake up calls are a good thing this time of year espeically when you still leave with W.

The announcers said at the beginning of the game the walk on QB was an option QB and he played against LSU, we had tape on him, but were not prepared, then when we started trying to stop it he started passing. We Won, 10-0, Go Tigers!

Syracuse QB Eric Dungey had been getting the majority of the snaps, but suffered a head injury last Saturday against Louisville.
The Syracuse starting QB was not announced until Thursday (two days ago). When you factor in that there is less time to prepare when you're going on the road, that does not leave much time at all to try to prepare for two QBs.
Throw in the turnovers and questionable officiating, that makes it even harder to win.
But WE DID. Keep rolling Tigers!

Haha does it suck being wrong ?
Venables told the media after the game that the defense worked on option defense all week in practice because they knew that with a new quarterback Syracuse would want to establish the run early, so nothing the Orange did should have surprised anyone on Clemson’s sideline.“No. They ran the zone, read option, split zone and split flow. We've seen them run it,” Venables said during his postgame interview. “They're going to do it when it works. They run it all kinds different ways. We worked hard on it

Running an option before today. If you aren't ready for it, our can give you problems when ran well. Give them credit for running the option well. Give our defense credit for stopping it on the fly. I'll take the win. 5 more to go.

The double and triple option has been a part of our offense all year.

Whatever our excuse was, we didn't appear to make a lot of halftime adjustments. Mahoney did a lot of damage on the ground.
