Per dabo they were very worried his blood work was out of whack and wasn't sure why. Dabo said he heard Sammy is feeling better but needs to get blood work done again.

Speculation: stomach virus gives high white blood cell count

If his white blood cell count doesn't go down then that is usually a sign of infection.

Sounds like he got something nasty. Happens to a lot of college students. Missed a week of school to weak to get out of bed winter of my freshman year.

Actually, WBC counts are low with a viral infection. But you do want to still keep an eye on it because of the chance of a secondary bacterial infection.
