The reason I think the Big12 situation is still quite alive

is that I cannot believe that our admin would let this thing grow like it has without some behind the scenes assurance that it would happen. "Begging for a date to the prom" and not getting it is embarrassing enough, plus putting up with conference backlash for trying to unsuccessfuly leave...
It does not add up to staying in the ACC without changes for the better. Just my opinion.

I don't see where admin grew Big XII talk. TDP said there is nothing of such between Clemson University and the Big XII. David Wilkins said we haven't received any viable option from any conference. This thing grew on this board and it was painful to watch, especially now.

Why was it painful? It is obvious that we need to get off a sinking ship. The B1g wouldn't be my first choice but it appears to be our best choice.

The way I see it if we take care of business and win all our games we will be in the playoff no matter what conference we are in. Tell me if I have missed something.

next 5 years before it will be re-evaluated. I've seen several references to $4M as an approximate number for schools such as CU, FLSt, and others. That's roughly $20M ... that should cover any exit fees.

This is the same deal we signed a year ago, just with more years and more money.

Either way, we will continue to fall behind in the $ game unless there are changes made....and Pitt and 'Cuse ain't it.

You said we could sue over our TV deals to reduce the buyout. How does that make any sense when we were part of creating the contract and approved of the one that we received.

Technically they are correct, however I'd be willing to bet Clemson's agents have spoken / are speaking to Big XII agents.

the $20m nut per school is too much to swallow alone and the Big 12 can't front the money without cutting the revenue to each school. i'm sure they were negotiating how to share the cost between the schools and Big 12 over the years, but Swofford would get his money upon exit.

media source has reported that there is anything do it.
Someone posted a few years ago that we were going to let VT run down the hill after the VT shootings and Tigernet fell for it for the most part.
