Sammy's draft status

Suspensions and such are minutia in a case like this. A kid like Sammy Watkins must understand the broader picture, as the ultimate goal is to put himself in a position to be drafted as high as possible when the time comes. The idea that a kid as talented and intelligent as Sammy does anything whatsoever to risk his future is amazing to me. Something like this can translate into falling 10 spots or so in the draft, and that could reduce his initial payout by $$ millions.

Knowing what I know being in my early 40s, I would eliminate all risks to my future draft status if I were in Sammy's shoes, as you have plenty of time after an NFL career to goof off and smoke dope if you so desire.

no way,if he stays clean. this being before his sophomore yr., it won't affect him,unless there are more instances in the future.

It's technically still his freshman year, he is 18 years old . If I were a scout and saw this I would not even care unless it was reoccurring. If he tests positive during a random test or gets arrested again then some flags can be raised but I don't see this touching his stock.

Round after all of the nonsense that went on with him, Sammy is fine. Not to mention this is the only instance of trouble of any kind for him. The sky isn't falling. Relax
