Obvious to me

As everyone is aware the ACC is weak, Clemson and FSU are the clear top 2 teams. If you had to pick just by rec Duke would be 3rd.... Let that sink in. Another telling sign is the fact that we get a better opponent and IMO a better bowl game if we finish 2nd in the conference. With the facilitys, fan base, coaching, recruiting, players, etc there is no reason we should finish 1st or 2nd in the confence maybe 3rd at worse. With all that being said I'm obviously a guy who would like to look at other confences, I think it would be in Clemsons best interest to move to the Big 12 athletically in all sports. The Big 12 has to make up for the losses of Mizzou, Tex A&M, Neb, Col in the past couple of years. But it left up to the powers in charge to make those calls. Flame away!!! Tired of being in the irrelenvet ACC with Swoffy focused on a basketball tourney in MSG.

Looks good on paper. But because we play such patsy teams in the ACC, we (or ACC rep) get our a$$ handed to us in a BCS bowl (see OB vs WV). When's last time an ACC team made a decent showing in BCS bowl?

Yeah, unless someone cares enough, and wants to donate the $50 million for the buyout Clemson will not be going anywhere.

You bring up a couple of good points, but while you are obvisiously a guy who would like to look at other conferences, the other conferences are not interested in us. And while it might be in Clemson's best interest to move to the Big 12,two obstacles stand in the way.One is the fact that the Big 12 has not asked Clemson to join( ie extend an invitation) and the second is that the anty to leave the ACC went up when Notre Dame joined. Yes,I too am tired of being irrelevant, but Swoffie did have our best interest in heart when he made Notre Dame a member of our basketball conference.

I agree. As long as Clemson takes care of business they will be fine. A win over FSU earlier this season and Clemson is sitting at #5 or maybe higher right now.

Firstly $50 mill is a lot but I think that the revenue we'd make would make up for it over time. We just spent more than thy building the west endzone and indoor facility. Second I believe the Big 12 is gonna have to look at teams in the coming years to get back to the 12 teams needed for the confence championship game why wouldn't we be a more attractive team than SMU or Louisville, etc?

How about we go "part-time" in the ACC? All sports except football in the ACC & football elsewhere. Cut our buy-out in half! Hell, Norte Dame can do it, why not Clemson?

Pointless post unless you can raise $50 million

We are where we are. Now we need to win the conference and schedule some top 20 competition outside the conference.
Oh and get rid of Swofford.
